MAybe it will be added because not every system has a flash card in it and i think there will be those phone on it
So then they must insert a flash card only to make that file

Well I supppose once you have done it once you can just pull that file off the card for future installs or just flash them all with your own card while you are installing as they will never need it after that anyway then just take your card back and set the server as usual

Andy I have a hunch that is asks for the 96xx settings if it has firmware in it for CM and as soon as it is on IPO firmware it might use 46xx settings files?
But I have no 9600 set to test and don't know if there is new firmware for it and can't look right now either so I moght be way off

Yes, I thought that too, but before flashing to IP Office firmware if you plug the same handset into a CM envoiroment is asks for the 46xxsettings file not 96, it isn't until if gets the ip office version of the upgrade file that it asks for the 96xx even though the file says 46xx...it's very confusing

I have installed a 9610, 9620, 9630, 9640 and 9650 without any problem, i used the ipo with card as a file server.
All phones did a firmware upgrade.
This firmware does have VPN software build in but i haven't got that working yet.

Did you use upload phone files option? If so that's why it worked, did you notice the files requested? If you try using Manager with an unflashed/not upgreded it will fail

I am jealous intrigrant
don't have those sets available, I guess my boss doesn't want to get them for testing, not even a 9610 or 9620 so I am stuck with ... nothing right now.
But it is good to hear that it worked for you, have you tried with an external http/tftp server because if people invest in the more expensive phones they won't have embedded mail, on the other hand we could sell them a flash card for that. Have to talk to sales and hopefully they comply.

Westi, a flash card is €10 so that is not a problem

We are due our copy of 6 today / tomorrow

so the concensus for upgrading 9600 phones is a CF card in the IPO?

Yes, and make sure you use the "upload phone files" option or they will work but they will not have updated their firmware so thigs like the dialled number will not show and screensaver etc will not function

Andy, did the 9600 without a hitch !
No problems at all and running fine.
You just did not do it right
