Hi all, just wondering if anyone has heard anything yet...as we haven't and it's due rather soon :)

ACS - IP Office Implement

"What the Crocodile Hat....was that?

I know, it is asking for 96xxsettings.txt but it was not there, so I thought Avaya must have messed up so I renamed the 46xxsettings.txt to 96 and had them both in there but it still says it can't see it and so gives up and boots with ACM firmware which works but not fully :)

Can you tell me where it starts with and then what follows etc etc

ACS - Implement IP Office
ACA - Implement IP Telephony -- ACA - Design IP Telephony
ACA - Voice Services Management
______________
Women and cats can do as they please and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea!

As follows:
1) plug freshly cleared 9620 in
2) Phone boots then requests DHCP
3) Receives address from IP Office DHCP pool (192.168.42.x)
4) Requests 96xxupgrade.txt from system and recieves the file
5) Requests 96xxsettings.txt from the system and fails
6) shows "bad file server"
7) Boots up using stored firmware and requests user login.

I don't were this 96 settings reference is coming from and it can't be bad file server as it has just took one of the files from there..I am at a loss also tried

As above but with Manager as file server:
1) plug freshly cleared 9620 in
2) Phone boots then requests DHCP
3) Receives address from IP Office DHCP pool (192.168.42.x)
4) Requests 96xxupgrade.txt from Manager, but in Manager TFTP log show request received for 96xxsettings.txt.http
6) shows "bad file server"
7) Boots up using stored firmware and requests user login.

Figured it out, you may want to note this down for future reference.
You can't simply use Manager to act as the TFTP server/HTTP relay via the system as the 96xxsettings does not exist...yet
You need to use embedded file management and select the upload phone files option, after doing this you will find on the memory card the 96xxsettings.txt has magically appeared and this is what the handset requests...which is odd when the upgrade .txt refers to 46xxsettings...go figure :)

No tlpeter, they didnt upgrade but they did work, now I have it figured out they are upgrading :)

Ha Ha, the system caught me out again, when booting for the very FIRST time ONLY it asks for 96xxsettings, after the firmware update any reboots request the 46xxsettings....I discovered this after wondering why the screensaver setings were not happening :)
At least they have kept it simple :)

@amriddle01

If you go to the Important Document section on the NPI website there is and IP_Office_installation PDF.

Now I thought "who needs it!" but sure enough, it has a lot of useful stuff such as loading the files into the embedded card.

Worth a quick read at least...

Don't ask me, I didn't design it.

Yeah I have read through that, it doesn't mention anything regarding the processes above though....at least not that I saw anyway :)

Hey Andy
what hairlessupportmonkey wants to say is that even you can configure it :p

Joe W.

FHandw., ACS

I don't suffer from insanity
I enjoy every moment of it :)

Cheeky monkey :) hairlesssupportmonkey that will not work..no external http/tftp server will, the 96xxsettings.txt file does not exist until it is created viathe system using the "upload phone files" option. and no renamiong the 46xxsettings.txt file does not work either, don't know why but it doesn't. :)

That should be "via the" and "renaming" :)

So that means you always need a card in the system to get it working ?

Indeed, but think about what you need to do with the new "you know what" for licensing and upgrades etc :)

But the i know what you mean is not the only thing, if you know what i mean :)

Tom, I didn't see that in the release notes (don't think it's in there), I discovered that through much head scratching and head butting the system :)

ACS - IP Office Implement

"What the Crocodile Hat....was that?

I may be wrong tlpeter, but that file does not exist in the Manager folder or anywhere I could find and renaming 46xx file didn't work so I don't see how else you could do it, and why it asks for 96xxsettings when nothing tells it to and only until it is on the IP Office firmware...that's just odd :)
