While programming a Small office, I entered a DNS-IP-Address. But this was the wrong IP-Address. I've tried to login into the system, but no result. Pls help!!!!!
How can I get into the system again?

if you are unable to reconnect using manager you may have to defaukt the CFG using the com port

Use the commands AT-X2 <return>, AT-X3 <return>

Do not use AT-X

read my faq on upgrade failure for more info

Thank you but are there consequences doing this? Will I still have the same version or do I have to upgrade the system after doing this?

Can you tell me if downbelow suggestion will help?
Changing the IP-Address of my PC, into the IP-Address that has been used as the DNS, IP-Address. Connect on the IPO and start the Manager. Thank's in advance.

if you erase the Config you wil need to reprogram the system.
thisnking further
I suspect that th IP adderess of your unit has been changed to one on a different sub net to your PC.
if you open the Config off line (File/offline/opencfg) you will be able to see the current settings of the unit.

once you set your IP address to the same subnet you should be able to correct our error

I do understand that I will need to reprogram the system after erasing the config, but I also red, on this forum, that it will be necessary to upgrade the system after doing what you have advised and I just want to be sure about this.

No At-X2 & AT-X3 only erase the config back to factory defaults the firmware will remain OK.

It is AT-X that erases the firmware, people often get carried away & do it when it is not required.

As per my FAQ AT-X should only be used WHEN ALL ELSE (including asking here) FAILS.

Good luck with the system

IPGuru,

Thank's a lot, till next problem.
Regards.

Seems strange that entering the wrong DNS address would prevent entry into the system...??

Did you try setting your manager PC to a static address on the correct subnet? Perhaps the bad DNS data is mucking with the IPO's DHCP ability, although that doesn't seem likely.

Can you ping the IPO?

Peter

IP-Guru & Peter,

Thank's a lot. Problem has been solved. DNS adres that I used in the IPO, I used it on my PC, then filled in the IP-Adres of the IPO (the next IP-Adres in this range). After that I tried to connect to IPO and I was lucky that it was working, it wasn't necessary to do the other things. Thank's again.
