I have a new Compaq Presario SR1033WM with XP Home, and the printer wizard won't start. When you click "Add a printer" nothing happens. If you connect the printer to the parrallel port, XP sees it and tries to install it, but then gives an error that the "specified module could not be found" and there are no printers in device manager. I have tried three printers...same issue. No errors in event viewer and stop/starting spooler doesn't change anything. Nothing shows up in the "add a printer" screen. I'm an administrator of the PC. I believe it has something to do with "printer wizard" not starting. Any suggestions are welcome...thanks.
