I have a loaner IPOffice that I'm having trouble connecting my laptop to with Manager , when I first received the IPO it did not have the SD in the System SD card slot so the Support said that was the reason I cant connect so I have the SD card now and that didnt make any differance , and another thing I should be able to Ping 192.168.42.1 ? if I set my IP as 192.168.42.15 but I cant Ping 192.168.42.1 I also set the MASK as 255.255.255.0 you guy's have any thoughts .

The IP's probably changed from default? You try plugging in to the WAN port and pinging 192.168.43.1?

I have dreamed a dream, but now that dream has gone from me.

I would default the programming with the button in the back

To default the configuration using the Reset button
1.On the rear of the control unit, press and hold the Reset button for between 10 to 30 seconds until the CPU led
changes to flashing orange.
2.When the CPU LED changes to flashing orange, release the button.
· If the CPU LED changed to red, keep the button held until the CPU LED changes to flashing green. Then
release the button and reattempt the process once the CPU LED has returned to steady green.
3.Wait for the reboot to complete before performing any other actions.

then when the system comes back up and discovers DHCP it will grab an IP address and you can connect to it via your PC / Laptop without having to set your IP address manually

Thanks for the reply , I have not tried to Ping 43.1 and if I push the reset should'nt go back to the default IP 192.168.42.1

Why a loaner? I assume you have it in the system SD card slot not the optional, seen it done many times...though I think it still works [ponder]

"No problem monkey socks

Yea I have it in the System SD slot and I can Connect to it now after , I grabs an IP address but when I change it to the IP I want it have and save it then Merge then exit out and come back and the ip is back to the default ??

Cause you're merging without a reboot. You should immediate merge.
Day one in the field stuff.

Yes I know thayt I have done it both ways still gos back to default .

So, you're programming System> Lan 1> Ip Address with your new IP address, immediate merging, and then the system is still responding on the OLD IP address?
And you're direct connected to LAN 1? If not- (do so) there may be two IPOs visible.
Try same thing (direct connect) Lan 2. If the problem persists you have two faulty LAN ports, faulty IPO or incorrect config.

Or not enough knowledge, change the LAN1 ip address and save the config with a full reboot.
Or put the SD card in a card reader, open the file in SYSTEM/PRIMARY named config.cfg ( it is read only so first change it to R/W ) and change the IP Addresses in there, save the file and make it read only again.
Power down IP Office, insert SD card and power up IPO, the LAN address now must be changed, if not send the unit and SD card back ad ask for a working system.
