Out Of Service fallback 1

I'm currently running 4.0(5) on a 406 and I'm having issues with a fallback/out of service group.

I have an ICR going to a hunt group w/ 3 people and an overflow to another HG which just rings to an auto attendant (which does a day/night/holiday test and pulls the correct recording for menus, etc).

However, they want a button on their phone to automatically set the ICR to go to a night message, rather than ring the HG. Easy enough, just a simple set HGoutofservice button.
However, upon activation, that button makes the calls go to the VM of the hunt group, rather than going to the set out-of-service fallback hunt group (which auto rings to an AA).
I've tried setting it in the ICR to fall back to the night group, and I've tried setting it in the main HG. I've also tried setting it up to just ring an extension rather than a group to no avail. Bloody thing just want's to go and ring the VM for that group when set out of service.

Any ideas?

Here's what I would do:

Leave all of the routing alone because I assume the calls are at least getting to the group you want to answer the calls.

Set a leave mail action for the target group to a callflow
called NO MESSAGE that just had a menu with all the options set back to itself and the greeting recorded to what you need to tell callers to call back later.

Create a shortcode, 666, voicemail collect, "night leave mail"

Create a user called nightFWD and forward unconditional, checking hunt group calls to the shortcode 666

I would create a second group, let's call it OVERFLOW, put the nightFWD user in there, then put this group as the overflow for the target group.

Create another callflow called "night leave mail" and have it go to a leave mail cation in any mailbox other than the target hunt group.

forgot 2 things:

Set an out of service button on the target group

and set overflow as the out of service destination

Thanks for the help. In shop today to try it out. I will post what happens.

ronromano,
Thanks for all the help.I took what was in the modules you provided and what was in the voicemail examples 4.0 and was able to get it to work just how I wanted.(My head still hurts). The IP Office would suffer if it wasn't for the VM Pro.

SORRY That should be thanks to ronromano for the help and to Gibsonic for the modules you provided.

no prob! glad you got it working...and yes VM Pro is like the paddle for an IPO raft not going anywhere.

Your welcome 1043, you have helped me before in the Merlin forum I think. Anyway this kind of this on the IPO is tricky but once you get the hang of it, it becomes useful in other parts of an install.
