I recently had an issue with my One x service not being able to start. It had been running for 2 months no issue, but one day, just would not start the service. I uninstalled and re-installed thinking that it was the version mismatch issue with Apache, but then the service wasn't even showing up. After spending the weekend researching and finding the only suggestion of reloading the server, I decided to have a closer look at the server environment and figure out what else was wrong. It turned out that SSA wasn't able to start either which made me think JAVA. I uninstalled the admin suite, and all versions of JAVA (there were 4) and re-installed everything and it all started working again. Thanks a lot to whoever clicked the update JAVA notification. I now turn JAVA updates off when I install admin suite!

Thought this may help someone as I spent all weekend working on it and getting frustrated and it was a simple fix.

I could have told you that in two minutes as we had to do that often during the trial periods of the first one-x and Avaya did not mention the updates in the manuals.

If it ain't dutch it ain't much

reminds me of an IT guy I know. He said once that there are many ways to screw up servers and PC's but Java is still the most reliable one :) good to know this piethief and thanks to you via another piece of pink
