I have an avaya G3 V6 with guestworks. I had a TN2464 ds1 board in the pbx and has been there for probably 5 or 6 years to the best of my knowledge. Recently the t-1 kept going down and I noticed when I tested the board or did a list config all it would show no board. I have found the the tn2464 is supposed to be backwards compatible but avayas hardware guide stated it is best if used after release 9. I then installed a tn464f which is supposed to be sufficient with a G3V6. It sees the card and works, a few hours later again -the t-1 went down. I went to busy and release the t-1 but again it states no board. Is there something Im missing, can there be another issue? Please help.

Perhaps the slot is bad; have you tried moving the card to another slot?

Thats not a bad idea Susan. Are you getting any alarms when this is happening?? Board, TDM Bus??

its really weird, my alarms show sync errors and uds1-bd errors, i have looked up error codes but nothing points to any certain thing

When you disconnect the cable going back to your T-1 does everything come back to normal. "List con ds1" li con bo ?????

Just wondering if the CSU/DSU may be bad grounding out the board??

I have done a list ds1 and a list config bo 01b16 and all shows up. I am remote and am unable to remove the t-1 cable, but usually it will let you busy the trunk group and the bo remotely but this is not allowing it it gives me an eror type 1010. But if a reset system 4 it all comes back.

The reset is just reseting the whole system, so yes that will clear it our. If you have moved the boards to different slots and cabinets, then you are going to have a couple of bad boards, (which I doubt ) or something else before the board is grounding out and shorting out the board. You can verify this by having someone on the other end swap around circuits. If the trouble follows the cabling/ CSU/DSU/Circuit, then theirs the next place to trouble shoot.

hardware platform? definity software version?
If this is a g3r, that's a bug and you need a patch.

I can write out a software table and fix this. And maybe give you a patch number.

Im not sure if this is a r or s, how can I tell? I did a disp sys cust and it just states g3 v6.

This is no longer stating no board, however when AT&T tested they stated that the when testing they are testing clean to the csu, when dropping they see UAS errors.

Currently there is a visual uptime csu. I am replacing it with a avaya 120a2 integrated csu. This should be sufficient right?

csu change would be okay. You will have to change ds1 xxxx
and show csu "integrated" instead of other.

The patch for ds1 with no board was for r9, r10, and r11 on the G3R platform only.

Ok, so i set the sync source to my board slot, 01a16, but the integrated csu would not work no matter what I did. It seems I am getting errors and slips form the visual uptime csu, so then the avaya sets the sync source to the tone/bd. I have set it at 01a16 and disabled the syn. Im hoping this will stop it from constantly going down. Any thoughts on what I can do.

when you changed the board from a tn2464 to a tn464 did you remove all the trunk programming, and remove the ds1 programming and then add it all back in with the new board type?

cut and paste "list config board 1a61" and "disp ds1 1a16"
so we can see what it looks like. Preferably when it is not showing NO BOARD.

what is the exact software version g3v6?
