Need to upgrade this IP 406v2 system running 3.2(57) to 4.2+ in order to get embedded voicemail to email functionality working.

1. Need to know what specific version of 4.2(xx) should i upgrade to?

2. Where do i find this upgrade? (i believe it is free)

3. Is there an upgrade guide anywhere so i don't mess this up.

Thanks in advance.

Be sure it is the 64mbit version and not the 16mbit version.
The last one can not go higher then 3.2

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

@zols So just to get this straight. are you saying upgrade to 3.2(999) first, then go to 5?

@tlpeter are you saying make sure the upgrade software is 64mbit or the current?

sorry for the questions, just want to be sure.

Open monitor and look for freemem.
When it givs a number then this number must be 8 digits.
When it is 7 digits then you can't upgrade it.

as for the upgrade guide open manager go to file/advanced/upgade & hit F1, im not trying to be funny but if you dont know about working directories and how to stage a upgrade , you stand the chance of breaking the unit , then you will have to DTE it, then you will be paying an expensive call out to fix your unit to a trained engineer.

So look for a good BP and get an experienced company to do it for you by paying for a maintanance contract and negotiating this free upgrade as part of the contract.
