Updated List as of Jun 23, 2010

High -Ability to setup an analog extension/ONS, with a pre-specified prefix, e.g. 9 for outside line (for say fax machines).

Med -A way to have a visual indication of day/night mode (e.g., you can have a call forwarding key which lights up when active, how about one for 'Night 1')

Med -Call screening on trunks. How to block calls from particular numbers. Calling party number based routing, handle calls coming from different area codes in different way.

Med -Sub-attendant function.

Med – DID translation tables. Possibly the same form as Call screening. Have a form specific to DID translations. Configurable so that conflict dialing is avoided. SX-200 has this.

Med – Have an IP page option (multicast) - not using E2T resources – Same IP Phone limit of members as DNIC - 250

Med – Ability to send Calling Party Name, based on DN much the same as Calling Party Number. Default Name, and tables much like the Calling Party Number table/form.

Delivered In rel 4.1 Med - Currently, automatic switching from day/night, doesn't take into account weekends (so you need to manually handle this?)commentAs Mitel appears to be phasing out opsman, this may become more of an issue. It also doesn't address later closing times on specific days. Need something more like the Business hours for Voicemail.
*** 4.1 has fully configurable calendar.

Med - ACD functionality needs ability to provide pre-announce greeting before presenting call to the agents. Must be done within single queue to avoid reporting issues.

New Low - Need Ability to lock user from changing keys including/especially ACD phones

New Low - Need the ability, like in the SX200, to capture user digits before activating speedcall. For use in Auto Attendant type Applications.

Low - Have IP page include overhead page (like on the 200icp)

Low - In the web interface, show more than 5 lines/phones/etc at a time, if there is space to do so

Low - Ability to display an extension's number on screen (on likes of 5312/5324, the 5330/5340 do it anyway).

Low - A way to be able to deassign the MAC address from the phone. Sometimes it would be nice to be able to return each phone to: USE Super key TO SEND PIN, from the phone.

Low - Web interface to work on other browsers/platforms (e.g. Mac+Safari)

Low - distinctive ring for different keys on a phone

Low - User configuration should have editable fields for Call routing Assignment.

Low - BLF Lamps for 5550 console. Current method for creating BLF’s for 5550 console is difficult to manage. It also uses costly resources (licensing) A method by which a lamp can be enabled via the User Configuration form would be preferable.

Low - Range Programming for System Speed Dial (Range Delete Also)

Low - Voicemail Menu Nodes need ability to access Dial by Name and Dial an Extension features.

Low - For Multiple- Multicall appearances(of the same DN) on the same phone, only 1 should flash/ring at a time

Change from Unrated Low - an option for call timer on phone display to run minutes: seconds not hours: minutes

Unrated - Need ability to associate MWI keys with any valid mailbox. Currently MWI fails if mailbox is single digit.

Unrated - Currently any Keyline / Multicall programmed on a set and only having 1 appearance in the system, is displayed as a single line. Copying the key fails unless the programmer can guess the original programmed type. Functionality of these keys is different, the system should display the type “As Programmed”

Unrated - Current limit of 16 DSS/BLF keys is too low.

Unrated - Ability to turn off canned prompts on Embedded Mail such as “You are being transferred to…”

Unrated - Need Ability to play greeting and hangup, either with Rad or with Announcement Type mailbox

Unrated – Trunk and DN status in SNMP

Unrated - If parking multiple calls, on say a 5340, it would be good to show the caller's number beside each button (e.g. on the LCD screen)Fisher Need more description, parking calls on multiple keys?. Does Superkey provide the info?

Unrated - LCD based PKMs (e.g. 48 key) Self Labeling same as 5340

Unrated - DECT headset/handset for Consoles (Same as SX-200 for 5540 console)

Unrated - Call History key that records all calls ringing the phone (not just the prime DN)

Unrated - Call Park to grab lowest available orbit number (not go from 01 to 99)

Unrated - The ability to pickup a park recall from another phone (can do on 200icp)

Unrated - a way to control SIP debugging, allowing you to decide whether to show debugs for: SIP devices, SIP trunks or both (the current situation)

Unrated - A field-replaceable battery for the cordless handset

On the chopping block

To Be removed on next update Return large display phones like 5240 with easy interface. I have lots of complains on 5340 as overcomplicated.comment The market has spoken on the 5240, Mitel sold almost none. 5340 with self labeling keys is here to stay.

To Be removed on next update The call history application on the 5330/5340 (full screen), couldn't return calls, as it was missing the 9 prefix (and didn't pay attention to 'Outgoing external call prefix for apps' in 'System Options Assignment'Comment Sounds like a tech support question

To Be removed on next update Access the configuration as a text file, export it, save it. And then, compare how it was on different dates/between systems. Being able to export the settings to one big text file would be good.Comment Export to csv is quite good as it is

Occam's Razor - All things being equal, the simplest solution is the right one.

mmm, not sure if anything currently, apart from using the MBG for Secure Recorder connector. With latest release of SRC you can have this option but just not connect a recorder?

Apart from that wait till R5

Guys

How up to date is the list? Reason I ask is that I believe I can do the first one on the list yet it is listed as high priority!

Perhaps it's time to update the list!

No, the first one cannot be done with digital trunks. I need to be more specific, agreed.

Yes agreed (thought I must be missing something)

so depending on whether you are setting this up the same way I would, perhaps the request would be better stated as "The ability to post dial on digital trunks from an analogue station" (I create a speed dial to the line access code only then hotline the station to the speeddial).

A way I have done this in the past on other systems is create a seperate tennant with it's own numbering plan and send everything to line, effectively doing away with the ability to dial internally. I haven't played with tennanting on the mitels enough to know if this solution is possible or cost effective with the licensing fees. Has this been looked into as a solution (assuming its possible)?

No, we're not looking for post dialing on digital trunks Were looking for the ability dial from analog without having to enter ARS leading digits. (Such as 9). The SX-200 has a COS option - Direct to ARS and a Feature Access Code for - Direct to ARS Digits. By activating the COS option and programming the FAC, an analog station simply goes offhook and the ARS leading digits are dialed automatically.

The main pain point on this is on the 3300, the ARS leading digits must be dialed by the device. All too often this means that a customer is required to modify all of their stored speedcalls on their Fax machines.

It's frustrating that Mitel has solved this issue on one of their platforms so simply but they refuse to modify the flagship. The SX-200 has been able to do this for over 20 years.

But it can be achieved both ways and post dialling would be advantageous anyway (I know of one customer with a different make of system that has a speed dial for the first so many digits then simply dial the unit number of the vehicle to get any of their units on the road). I still recon It would be possible using tennancy though

OzzieGeorge - Your suggested method does not work with Digital Trunking. You cannot dial partial digits on the D-Channel and subsequent digits on the B-Channel. The call will fail. We all have gone down that road and no one has been successful. If you have a working solution, be very specific as to the method, there are some very adept people in this forum and we can understand any detail you provide.

I tell you I have post dialling working on another manufacturers system and you say it's impossible. What more can I say, I don't know how they do it but do it they do. perhaps there is a timing start type arrangement on speed dials to see if there are any further digits. heck you can even use consecutive speed dials on this one (There is a specific system command to allow consecutive speed dials over ISDN)! The system I refer to can also have up to 4 completely seperate numbering plans for different tenants so on that I would just tenant the analogues in question and give them a suitable numbering plan. This doesn't seem to be an option on Mitels. I mention this because I would expect two (or more) tenants to be able to have conflicting (or identical) numbers even for extensions but this doesn't seem to be possible!

Is it possible that I expect these things because I am working with ETSI ISDN, I'm not sure of the differences whether ETSI will allow what we are talking about or the pabx is accomodating it?

Perhaps my expectations of mitel products is too high. Releasing the survivable remote to market when it can't do something you would think was essential like show the right time should have warned me (for that matter how would you deal with the time for a teleworker in a different timezone)!

I've never worked on the SX200 so I can't compare the way you say that works but it seems to me that the methodology behind the system of allowing number conflicts and for them to be resolved simply by timing start probably rules out a jump to ARS setting. I do however wish you luck in getting what you want.

Just a note on the surviveable remote as well. You wouldn't want to put too many remotes on a system as the only way we could work out to get the systems to use their local lines was via COR which started to get pretty complicated with just the main and one remote (17 classes). I would love to know an easier way (possibly a location ID to be used in ARS).

I thought I would add that (and unfortunately there is no PM system here so this has to be public) Your posting style is very confrontational. In fact after your last post (and your posts in other forums), I wondered if I should just leave this forum and forget about it, which from someone as normally self assured as I am, is saying something!

Try reading your last post from my point of view and it actually has very threatening overtones as did your posts on the thread which brought me here!

I think I will retire to the forums I feel welcome on!

God forbid I need to ask a question about a Mitel product! PBX Info and Tech Talk suddenly are so much more inviting!

Sigh, Ozzie, we must be having a terminology breakdown. What I would call post digit dialing would not resolve the issue at hand. You are using the term as a method to resolve the issue but providing no details. This leaves a lot of room for misunderstanding. You've asked me to reread, I have. My statements are true in the context of trying to resolve the issue and admittedly are due to a lot of assumptions.

I understand that you are having difficulty with my responses. There is no intent on my part to offend. I really am trying to help/understand. I am encouraging you to provide more details so that others and myself can better understand your scenario. No hidden agenda.

In my defense, I rarely have any conflict with anyone in this forum. Quite the opposite in fact. I feel I need to ask you to assess your role as well and see how you can help to achieve better understanding.
