Updated List as of Jun 23, 2010

High -Ability to setup an analog extension/ONS, with a pre-specified prefix, e.g. 9 for outside line (for say fax machines).

Med -A way to have a visual indication of day/night mode (e.g., you can have a call forwarding key which lights up when active, how about one for 'Night 1')

Med -Call screening on trunks. How to block calls from particular numbers. Calling party number based routing, handle calls coming from different area codes in different way.

Med -Sub-attendant function.

Med – DID translation tables. Possibly the same form as Call screening. Have a form specific to DID translations. Configurable so that conflict dialing is avoided. SX-200 has this.

Med – Have an IP page option (multicast) - not using E2T resources – Same IP Phone limit of members as DNIC - 250

Med – Ability to send Calling Party Name, based on DN much the same as Calling Party Number. Default Name, and tables much like the Calling Party Number table/form.

Delivered In rel 4.1 Med - Currently, automatic switching from day/night, doesn't take into account weekends (so you need to manually handle this?)commentAs Mitel appears to be phasing out opsman, this may become more of an issue. It also doesn't address later closing times on specific days. Need something more like the Business hours for Voicemail.
*** 4.1 has fully configurable calendar.

Med - ACD functionality needs ability to provide pre-announce greeting before presenting call to the agents. Must be done within single queue to avoid reporting issues.

New Low - Need Ability to lock user from changing keys including/especially ACD phones

New Low - Need the ability, like in the SX200, to capture user digits before activating speedcall. For use in Auto Attendant type Applications.

Low - Have IP page include overhead page (like on the 200icp)

Low - In the web interface, show more than 5 lines/phones/etc at a time, if there is space to do so

Low - Ability to display an extension's number on screen (on likes of 5312/5324, the 5330/5340 do it anyway).

Low - A way to be able to deassign the MAC address from the phone. Sometimes it would be nice to be able to return each phone to: USE Super key TO SEND PIN, from the phone.

Low - Web interface to work on other browsers/platforms (e.g. Mac+Safari)

Low - distinctive ring for different keys on a phone

Low - User configuration should have editable fields for Call routing Assignment.

Low - BLF Lamps for 5550 console. Current method for creating BLF’s for 5550 console is difficult to manage. It also uses costly resources (licensing) A method by which a lamp can be enabled via the User Configuration form would be preferable.

Low - Range Programming for System Speed Dial (Range Delete Also)

Low - Voicemail Menu Nodes need ability to access Dial by Name and Dial an Extension features.

Low - For Multiple- Multicall appearances(of the same DN) on the same phone, only 1 should flash/ring at a time

Change from Unrated Low - an option for call timer on phone display to run minutes: seconds not hours: minutes

Unrated - Need ability to associate MWI keys with any valid mailbox. Currently MWI fails if mailbox is single digit.

Unrated - Currently any Keyline / Multicall programmed on a set and only having 1 appearance in the system, is displayed as a single line. Copying the key fails unless the programmer can guess the original programmed type. Functionality of these keys is different, the system should display the type “As Programmed”

Unrated - Current limit of 16 DSS/BLF keys is too low.

Unrated - Ability to turn off canned prompts on Embedded Mail such as “You are being transferred to…”

Unrated - Need Ability to play greeting and hangup, either with Rad or with Announcement Type mailbox

Unrated – Trunk and DN status in SNMP

Unrated - If parking multiple calls, on say a 5340, it would be good to show the caller's number beside each button (e.g. on the LCD screen)Fisher Need more description, parking calls on multiple keys?. Does Superkey provide the info?

Unrated - LCD based PKMs (e.g. 48 key) Self Labeling same as 5340

Unrated - DECT headset/handset for Consoles (Same as SX-200 for 5540 console)

Unrated - Call History key that records all calls ringing the phone (not just the prime DN)

Unrated - Call Park to grab lowest available orbit number (not go from 01 to 99)

Unrated - The ability to pickup a park recall from another phone (can do on 200icp)

Unrated - a way to control SIP debugging, allowing you to decide whether to show debugs for: SIP devices, SIP trunks or both (the current situation)

Unrated - A field-replaceable battery for the cordless handset

On the chopping block

To Be removed on next update Return large display phones like 5240 with easy interface. I have lots of complains on 5340 as overcomplicated.comment The market has spoken on the 5240, Mitel sold almost none. 5340 with self labeling keys is here to stay.

To Be removed on next update The call history application on the 5330/5340 (full screen), couldn't return calls, as it was missing the 9 prefix (and didn't pay attention to 'Outgoing external call prefix for apps' in 'System Options Assignment'Comment Sounds like a tech support question

To Be removed on next update Access the configuration as a text file, export it, save it. And then, compare how it was on different dates/between systems. Being able to export the settings to one big text file would be good.Comment Export to csv is quite good as it is

@ - The MitelGuy

Are your rating adjustments indicative of your opinion?

Or

Do they represent what you think Mitel's priorities are?

Or

Do the represent Mitel's actual priority to the best of your knowledge?

Some are obviously not very clear.
Med – Ability to send Calling Party Name, based on DN much the same as Calling Party Number. Default Name, and tables much like the Calling Party Number table/form. ** DONE! COS OPTION. AVAILABLE TODAY.

I added this item so I know what it means. It does not mean using the method available today.
Default name = Name entered once in system. Any new phone added automatically sends this name.
Tables = Ranges of phones can be assigned to send a specific name.

The current method requires that each and every phone be programmed with the specific Outbound Name. The current method uses the Tel Dir and as such severely limits the use of the Tel Dir.

Hi TheMitelGuy

I think there is some confusion against:

Low - Web interface to work on other browsers/platforms (e.g. Mac+Safari)

you wrote:
** YOU CAN - ANY 53XX SERIES PHONE. AVAILABLE IN YOUR PRICE BOOK. IT'S A FREE OPTION FOR 5360S, BUT WORKS ON ALL 53XX SERIES PHONES. IT'S CALLED "LIVE CONTENT SUITE."

the request was for the Mitel's built in web management interface to work in browsers other than Internet Explorer on the PC (or Avant as per a tip from this forum), your reply is more related to writing/deploying apps/web pages to access from the phones themselves I think?

Another minor qualm I have for the wish list, I'm not a big fan of the flat ribbon connector that does from the CX mainboard to the analog main board, and from the analog main board to the analog option board. I can't say I can put any problem down to it, but I'm always worried I'm not going to get a good connection and it'll take me 15 minutes (booting) to find out, then I'll need to open it all up again to reseat it...

Fissure - Not just the CX, if I'm understanding your description properly.

That ribbon must be removed and reseated on an MXe when installing the expansion processor.

I'm not sure I really want to get into hardware design issues for this thread though.

Embedded voicemail to not require a mail box for an Multi Level AA to transfer to.

Or in that case just redo the whole voicemail system completely. It's broken.

HIGH HIGH HIGH

some MCD 4.2 details are now online

I'll watch what I say, but some of our long running feature requests are there:

Visual display of day/night mode

PKM support on 5330/5340

Also of interest:

New quieter fans for CX(i) II (including kit to retrofit to already deployed units)

Use of the green colour on LED keys (currently just orange is used)

Whwn u say that the 4.2 features are online , where are they displayed - is it somewhere on Mitel Online?
can you advixe where?

sorry I should have looked before i posted - buulletin is on the front page ..

Not sure if this has been answered, but you can set up a extension to prefix the 9 or any other outside line access code on the 3300 for fax machines or other device. Here is how:

1. Create a System Speed Call with a Speed Call Number that is a dialable extension number that translates to the Outside Line Access code.

2. Use the Associated Directory Numbers form to create a Hotline from the fax machine extension to the Speed Call Number.

Then when the extension goes off-hook, the user can simply dial the phone number without the outside line access code.

bgibsonin - Correct me if I'm wrong but you Dial 9 solution will only work with analog trunks.

If not please provide more details.

I have no responses to my question regarding the 3300 sending voicemail to email on a hosted email service. This is functionality that has existed on the SX200 for over 5 years. It is my intention to add this item to the list and give it a priority of Medium- Any objections?

Hi kwbMitel, to clarify on your request re: "3300 sending voicemail to email on a hosted email service", do you mean the ability for the Mitel 3300 to use a username+password to authenticate to an SMTP server (hand in hand with that would often be the need to use encryption)

Fissure - Yes. Username and Password. Much like the 200 already has.

What's most important is that you realise ... There is no spoon.

kwbMitel- It also works with ARS. In my case, the ARS Leading Digit is 8. I simply create a System Speed Call with the Speed Call being 1000 and the destination being 8.

Brett

I am sure most modern fax machines have the option of PABX settings where you program the outside line access code so it inserts the 9 when dialling external.

Supernova - The issue is not only with Faxes. Also, faxes tend to have speedcalls that must all be reprogrammed. Again the SX200 has had a Direct to ARS for more years than I care to estimate.

What's most important is that you realise ... There is no spoon.

KwbMitel thanks for the heads up I am not familiar with the SX200 at all, as this is just a NA product so it is difficult to compare.
However as all the products are gradually taking up features from each other I suspect that before long this will become available.
BTW does the SX200 have DNIS based routing? This is something that the 3300 should have and would make our lives much easier.

Share what you know - Learn what you don't

DNIS based routing? Might you have meant ANI based routing.

If not, what do you mean by DNIS based routing?

Bgibsonin: Yes, ARS. But only analog trunks. With Digital trunks (99% of my installs) dialing must be done on the D-Channel and cannot be done in the method you suggest. If you are saying it can, I need details.

**********************************************
What's most important is that you realise ... There is no spoon.

Sorry should have put ANI/DNIS routing as the 3300 currently routes incoming call based on DNIS but it would be useful if it could route calls using ANI digits.
