Hi all,

I have a problem, rather a question, about the Mitel auto attendant. I have everything set up fine from a perspective of dialling in to the AA, the greetings are set up fine and the transfer mailboxes are in place and all route to the destinations correctly based on pressing 1, 2, 3 etc.

My greeting offers the ability to dial an extension number (should you know it) before making a choice based on the AA options; i.e. a user can dial 1001 before the rest of the greeting message and be transferred to extension 1001. Simple in theory but in practise this try's to transfer to extension 001. If I dial 11001 it wil transfer to 1001. Is there any reason this would be the case, stripping the leading digit?

Thanks

Additional information:

The 3300 is an old MXe running 7.1.6.10_1.

The configuration is as follows:

Call comes in to main number and is directed to voicemail. Voicemail box 7000 is the main menu node. In this mailbox is the main greeting. The greeting gives 2 choices, to dial the extension number required if you know it or to press 1 for further options.

Pressing 1 will direct you to the main ACD path and from there which ever ACD group is required and this works fine. Dialling the extension however does not work and strips the leading digit as described above.

Can anyone point me in the right direction please?

Thanks

You cannot dial an extension from a menu node.

You can only have the single digit options.

Dialing an extension that begins with 1 will absorb the 1 and route to the dial 1 option. This is the observed behaviour.

Thank you kwbMitel. I had read on a different post on this forum that a similar AA had been set up and was working but I must have read it incorrectly. Thanks for the heads up.

Is there an AA node type where an extension can be dialled so I could say "if you know the extension press 1 and dial it now otherwise press 2" for example?

Thanks again.

For Dial an Extension and Dial by Name you must use the Main AutoAtt.
