I have just installed a MIRAN 3 in a CS1000 v5.5 lab system. Routes and trunks seem to be correct as the MIRAN is operational. However, when I access the MIRAN from a phone, the recordings or prompts from the TUI have a fair bit of static. The audio is not as clear as I would have expected. This includes the TUI prompts that were included by Nortel, so I am certain its not an issue with the audio files. I've tried to disable the card, reseat, then re-enable, but it doesn't seem to resolve the problem. The curious thing is that the amount of static seems to vary between calls.

Below is the details for the DID route to the MIRAN (for TUI)

I've seen several posts about static with a MIRAN, but it seems the were dealing with only hearing static. I can certainly hear the prompts, but they are mixed with static. Does anyone have any suggestions on how this could be corrected?

Thanks!

What kind of cabinet or chassis is it installed in? Is it in a main cabinet or an expansion?

It's in an NTDU15 - MG1000 expander cabinet.

Can you move it to the main cabinet? Also check your pins and cables in that expander.

I've replaced the cables connecting the NTDU14 chassis to the NTDU15 expansion chassis, as I had a spare set. This hasn't resolved the issue.

I'll need to take some time to reconfigure the system move the card to a different slot. All of my slots are already occupied, so I need to out something first.

One thing I have noticed after further testing, the audio is almost crystal clear after the card is reset. The longer the card is up and running, the static seems to steadily increase. It only takes about 15 minutes before it is noticeable, 1-2 hours and its unacceptable.

If I get some time this weekend, I'll try it in different slot.

I'm thinking you just have a bad Miran card if the static gets worse the longer it's plugged in.
