This is our 2nd MICS at this location; it has XC7.1 SW, PRI, DTI, 6 port combo, 6 port expansion with 14 ASM's. This unit will freeze up sometimes once a week. Time and date will be on the phones but no intercom dial tone and none of the buttons will work. Here are the EVT and ALM codes we are getting. The provider says they see no errors on their end on the circuit. ANY help on this issue would be greatly appreciated. We are at a loss.

This system has stayed up for seven days until yesterday. System went down two times test log during the time it was up only had a couple events. Except one day it have the startup codes but it didn't go down. The other system has stayed for 11 days until yesterday and it went down. They are 170 miles apart both on Spectrum circuits over coax and both installed early 2018. What are your thoughts about replacing with Avaya IP Office?

For that many analog ports I would do a Mitel SX-200 EL with PRI Line card and digital phones for office staff. IP office is good too just not my first choice for that number of analog phones.

Your problem is that it may not be something with the MICS because you replaced it not once but twice, and all it's parts a few times.

So if you go and put in a new system and get the same issues then your in some deeper trouble.

Is this a long term care resident place?
Do they all have their own DID's?

Maybe SIP Trunks/Gateways and 12X0's are a thought too.

What are the new alarms or events since a week ago and after the crash yesterday?

The Spectrum link doesn’t seem to have been fully exonerated as the culprit yet. Has it been monitored/looped back right to the customer handoff port? (Unfortunately, loop back is disruptive, particularly if the link has to be monitored for any significant period of time, but monitoring of the handoff by test/analysis equipment is certainly possible.)

Curlycord it is a nursing home all residents have their own DID, they have a block of 100 DID's. System went down on 1/23,
Test log:
1/24 EVT 310 one time
1/26 system startup codes but system didn't go down
1/27 EVT 312 & 313 one time
1/30 system startup codes system down
1/31 system startup codes system down
2/01 EVT 310 one time

Libellis I did get Spectrum to replace the gateway yesterday. They did some testing on 2/1 and compared the three circuits here in town to make sure they are all programmed the same. They didn't want to replace the gateway but I asked them to so we could eliminate that being the issue.

I'm in the process of retiring so the vendor that will be taking over said he would replace the MICS with an Avaya IP Office. That is why I was asking about that system.

Well then....DONT RETIRE!
Otherwise, you sure are going out with a bang! lol

From another thread
"These events are External time clocking issues and most likely are 'CO' issues they won't fess up to."

Well it seems there has been some progress though right, 11 days and still running?

This problem is frustrating enough to bring thoughts of retirement even to someone who isn’t ready to retire [smile]. If you happen to stay in contact with the new vendor to see how this problem plays out, let us know how the saga ends.

Since the other sites get lots of 310 events (although they don’t crash), if Spectrum confirmed that the programming is the same at all sites, then if something’s wrong, it’s wrong at all of them.

One final curiosity question - is the Spectrum gateway as close to the MICS at the other sites as it is in this site?

Anyway, good luck and enjoy retirement!!

If you let the MICS retire you, curlycord will hunt you down and hit you with his stick.
