This is our 2nd MICS at this location; it has XC7.1 SW, PRI, DTI, 6 port combo, 6 port expansion with 14 ASM's. This unit will freeze up sometimes once a week. Time and date will be on the phones but no intercom dial tone and none of the buttons will work. Here are the EVT and ALM codes we are getting. The provider says they see no errors on their end on the circuit. ANY help on this issue would be greatly appreciated. We are at a loss.

Thanks for your help.....

So Spectrum tech came out and did some testing on the cable modem and everything was good. Now after he left I started to get the event 247 codes so much I couldn't clear them fast enough. I disconnected the PRI circuit and the codes keep coming. I rebooted the system, took the DTI card out and back in, booted system back up and still getting code 247. Going back to replace DTI card, any other thing I might need to check??

Are you saying that after you put the DTI card back in and rebooted, the PRI was still disconnected and you got Event 247, or did you reconnect the PRI? If you got it again without the PRI being connected, what happens if you pull the DTI cartridge? Does Event 247 stop?

sanity!

I am out of ammo!

You have replaced everything once but maybe that one thing needs replacing again.
If I had to narrow it down, DTI card or NVRAM, maybe even replace the reg exp card with another combo card.

Get every bit or programming from them, they usually supply it on a spread sheet, get the same from the KSU and posted here.

Or

Run Forest run!

Libelous, I was getting the 247 codes continuously so I disconnected the PRI circuit and still cannot clear the log, with the circuit disconnected the code still kept coming in. I then reset the DTI card powered backup with PRI connected and was still getting the 247 codes. I replaced the DTI card and the combo card and I'm still getting the 247 codes.

I'm voting with Curlycord. DTI, NVRAM, replace 6-port expansion with a combo, and get programming.

Spectrum replaces their gateway (modem) and something already bad gets even worse, and doesn't even clear when you disconnect the PRI.

Look for elves living in the KSU. The solution for something this bad has to be simple.

Thanks, If I replace the NVRAM won't that change the system ID and require new PRI codes?

A downgrade of hardware (coldstart) or software will loose the code.
There have been very rare instances they were lost such as a reboot, upgrade and startup.

As for NVRAM I think it goes, if you do a software upgrade then swap the NVRAM first, then do the upgrade otherwise in reverse you may lose the code.

if something should go wrong.

I know you've now seen Event 247 even when the PRI is disconnected, but maybe something to keep in mind anyway. On occasion changing a CSU line build out level has corrected odd problems. The MICS is connected by a very short cable to the Spectrum gateway, maybe a lower level would help if it's currently set at maximum. Probably useful to know what the Spectrum gateway is set at as well.

I appreciate the input but I've decided to go ahead and replace the system and program from scratch. I've been working on the other system since October with no results. If the replacement system doesn't work I can always return it, with only the PRI code expense.

One question I have I couldn't get xc 7.1 I had to get xc7,O that shouldn't make a difference correct?

See the attached from the 7.1 installer guide. Looks like 7.1 only added the extended daylight savings time feature, but I'd wait to see what Curlycord or others have have to say.

After all the hardware changes/swap-outs you've done I'm leaning towards a programming issue, and I don't think Spectrum is cleared as the culprit. Would be good to get a copy of their gateway programming.

Besides DST settings - where they will have to manually change time if CLID does not....
-Expansion ports 13 & 14 are now available for using any module, no longer reserved only for Companion base stations.
-32 more Target Lines
-Allowance for Digital Mobility system
-SWCA enhancements
They don't tell you if they fixed issues.

Not sure why you say you cannot get the 7.1 XC as there is plenty out there.
I don't know where you are but I know our local place has it DSI Merch

You said above the old one had 7.1, you replaced it with 7.0...so you should still have the 7.1 no?

What kind of place is this this? Nursing Home?
You could also try unplugging a different ASM every failure in case it is causing the isseue.

Again: Is your Combo card on the left or right? (Slot 1 or 2)
I recommend installing 2 Combos.

Thanks curlycord, I didn't see your post before I sent the last one. Yes I have a XC7.1 but didn't want to use it not knowing what's the issue is. The combo is in slot 2.

I just received the MICS and noticed it was made in Mexico. I've never used one made from Mexico always made in Canada. Are these cabinets good to use?

Here's how the day went.
1,Programmed replacement system for site, Template DID, starting at DN 5634 to 5732, lines 157 to 256, Mod 2 PRI, NI2, TIA-547A, ISDN, ESF, CSU ON, B8ZS, Clock Primary. Route 001, PRIA, Destination code 9, Route 001.
2,Old system still getting event 247 continuously, system went down before I got to site at 1530
3,Installed replacement system after booting up starting getting evt 247 codes like other system
4, Reinstalled old system but I did not connect the PRI circuit and the evt 247 was still running, after some time I connected the PRI circuit so they could make calls
5, Started disconnecting the ASM's I disconnected ASM's not in use 9 to 12 still getting 247
6, Disconnected ASM's 7&8 no change, connected them back
7, Disconnected ASM's 5&6 did get down to 1 in test log, after 30 mins connected them back log still at 1
8, Left site at 1835 log at 1
9, Just login at 1955 log at 1

Just another day at the office (what the hay)
