Meridian Mail Just Shut Down!

Hi all.

I was just in the mail system and logged out and received a bunch of PRM Code lines and the mail system is down

What could have happened and how do i resolve this?

Can you check AML link is up .

We had a similar prob we did the following excercise

If AML link is down or not establishing then MM will hang at this point.
If AML link is down,just come out of LD 48 & log out of the PABX till u get a message AMLXXX on the terminal.


If Still there is no improvement then manually disable AML in ld 48 & enable as auto recovery ( i forgot actual command).
Then restart the Meridian Mail.

you can't check the dongle. mermail has a dongle, security arrangement. it has to match the keycodes. after the mail sees that in place it should boot into service. if it fails you should get a mismatch error.. looks like a large watch battery, goes on the mmp 40

I feel MM is not able to contact switch cos u r AML link is down. Licenses of MM is validated through AUX ID of the switch.

FOX security check will pass once MM establishes connection with switch.

 
went to ld 48 and it states

Faulty HW: No response
AML: 09 ESDI: 09

LYR2: Disabled LYR&: Down DSBL
 


You can try enabling the AML enl aml 9 , if it fails u can try reseating the SDI card & try enabling again.
 
do you have a tape drive installed on your mail? if so eject the tape. try ld 48 enl aml 9 acms, and reboot your mail.
 
i enabled the card...no luck


do i have to power down the entire system to reseat card?

did a hard reboot..system OK

might want to get a spare aml card, next time that one may stay down
