MCD 4.0 on Mxe II controller, lan 1 and 2

Just installed 4 new controllers for resillency, and have given the controllers static IP's. However, I can only connect through Lan1 and not Lan2. Never had this trouble before. Cannot even ping the static IP unless I am in Lan 1. Anyone run into this yet?

If you can't ping the 3300 IP adresses try to ping it's default gateway, if you can then there is something wrong with the coinnections or the setup. If not then there is something wrong with the routing setup on the network.

does the layer 2 switch have an ip?
spanning tree turned on on Mitel....

not sure if things have changed in mcd 4
