Mitel Applications Suite 4.0.227.0
Mitel Standard Linux 9.4.34
OVA 4.0.227.0 (enterprise)

Customer is using this strictly for voicemail; no other applications in use. They want to upgrade to latest to utilize gmail. Is there an upgrade path from MAS 4.0 to Micollab? Would customer be served best by changing to vNPUM and would database migrate from MAS 4 to vNPUM latest version?
Thanks.

You must first upgrade to Rel 5 or 6.

It's well laid out in the release notes.

**********************************************
What's most important is that you realise ... There is no spoon.

Also be aware that current is 64 bit so the server needs to be able to handle it.

If you want to move to a virtual Miollab with NuPoint there is a required Move to Virtual license that must be purchased and added to the AMC record
.

As the SW load you have currently is rather old, upgrade to each major release would be recommended.
As kwbMitel says, release notes has it all layed out for you.

Not knowing is not a limitation of knowledge, it's a limitation of resource. Not sharing is a limitation of both.

just be carefull with the clients

we took a customer from a very old to the latest version once ( 2-3 hops)
we di the server then again then again

when the clients started though they didnt like the large jump.
some of them lost some settings

in hindsight , we should have staged it and made sure that each client level upgraded before we did the server again.

If I never did anything I'd never done before , I'd never do anything.....

found my notes it was actually version 3.2 to 6

the server side went fine after doing multiple hops
the clients failed to upgrade and had to be reinstalled , any customization they had made at client side were lost.
from memory this was mainly contacts

If I never did anything I'd never done before , I'd never do anything.....

Because this wasn't my customer I was hesitant to go to Mitel, but emailed Engineering anyway.

"If you have active SWAS (software assurance ) just upgrade load 4.0 to 5.0 then up to 7.x (there were some conversions that happened in 5.0 so it is good to load it. If you do not have SWAS get the customer to re-enlist first."

Thanks everyone.
