Hi all,

Im having a problem for the past few days that I cannot resolve. I have 2X IPO 412 (both running 4.2.11 ) and every few minutes the connectivity between the 2 units is lost - i run a ping from site A to site B and the ping times out one way only for a few seconds then comes back again.

The error from Status monitor when the timeout occur is:

Trunk Alarms:

Alarms for Line: 100 H.323 192.168.1.10
No response to IP trunk call request / IP Trunk Line Number: 100 / Remote end IP address: 192.168.1.10

I have checked the network setup between the 2 Sites and cannot see any problems. No changes were made when the issue started to occur either.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

upgrade to 4.2.17
was this working fine for a time?
enable/disable fast start on ip lines.

It was working fine up until end of last week yes. I tried this morning removing fast start of both IP Line, no changes.

I noticed as well now in the Monitor Status error regarding the use of "Advanced Small Community Networking" with no licences. I have no idea what this is but i sure do not have any licences for it. All my licences are showing Valid by the way on both sites.

are you trying to add users from one switch into a hunt group of another switch?

If so, you need an ASCN licence, hence the error message.

i run a ping from site A to site B and the ping times out one way only for a few seconds then comes back again."

are you doing a test ping to the remote routers (not ipo) as this will tell you if you have a link problem.

don't forget to reenable the fast start.

A ping from site A to Site B which isnt to the Ayava IPO is fine. It only timesout if i ping the IPO on site B.

I am not trying to add any user from one switch to the other, at least i dont think so :)

I will try Lan2 on Site B.

Upgraded both units to 4.2.17 but same behaviour, SITE B becomes unvailiable every 5-10 minutes for about 10 seconds then comes back.

A message now looking at the Monitor on SITE B:

Configuration Alarms

There is a conflict with Small Community network dial plan numbers received from 192.168.1.10

Note that 192.168.1.10 is the IP of SITE A IPO 412

Any idea what this Small Community network dial plan refers to?

you have clashing extensions/huntgroups on the sites :)

Checked that just now, using ext 8XX,4XX and 3XX on Site A and 6XX & 2XX on Site B so no, nothing clashes.

Im ready gobsmacked by this problem. No Changes were made and now i get this ip trunk loss every 45 minutes :(

Could even be shortcodes

still no changes, huntgroup fine as well, checking shortcodes.

In System Status go to resources\directory\conflicts button.
This is normally greyed out but in your case of an configuration alarm is can be used to see what number is clashing.

Don't forget that the ports on the 412 are HD... possibly a mismatch!

Take Care

Matt
I have always wished that my computer would be as easy to use as my telephone.
My wish has come true. I no longer know how to use my telephone.

Thanks Guys, there are conflicts, i was able to remove some, some others i do not see what the problem is (e.g the extension mentionned only exist on one site ..?!)

I however dont think this is the root of the IP Trunk connectivity loss... I use static routes between the 2 sites and i tried LAN1 and LAN2 on both ends, no changes. Anything else i should look into?

Duplex settings as Matt mentioned, the ports on the 412 are half duplex only
