Avaya IPO Yealink BLF feature keys.

Hi,

Does anyone know how to get BLF feature keys working on a Yealink T46S connected to an Avaya IPO ?

Unless something has drastically changed with 3rd party SIP phones, you'll need an Avaya phone to be able to use the majority of programmable button features such as user buttons, group buttons, etc. You're pretty much stuck with what can be handled via shortcode, outside of features like transfer, conference and forward which can be handled at the phone level.

Someone may prove me wrong. About 7 years back I had a customer who wanted to reuse Polycom phones. In the end, the extra price for the 3rd party licenses and the lack of features drove them to abandon the Poly phones and get native Avaya phones.

Thanks.

I am aware that signalling is propriety to the IPO and as you say the only key functions that could be achieved was dial up using DTMF and not real time monitoring however a saw a post recently from Yealink saying that they now have full compatibility with IPO but I can't find that post anymore. I assume that they probably meant simply connectivity instead of compatibility and removed the post.

Yeah. not supported. You might be able configure some simple dial keys but that's on the yealink side and nought to do with the IPO.

Since user buttons and user status are usually (similar to Workplace Client) updated by SIP notify messages this should work, even if I have no experience. I don’t know how that function is called by Yealink.
