I'm starting a feature/functionality wish list for future relaeses of the IP Office. Even though I think The IPO is great, flexible and stable (yes I said stable), I think there are important features and functionality missing from the system.

Since I'm pretty sure Avaya takes a frequent look at this forum, I'm start with a few I think are important.

Now I don't want this thread to get dropped so watch what you post about future releases, don't want anyone to violate an NDA.

Now these are in no particular order just one that come to mind.

1) A real VM transfer key, having to hit the transfer then # plus ext isn't ideal

2) A User Key that has BLF, coverage and voice announce intercom all at the same time (like the Panasonic DBS)

3) On transfer when using dial intercom, when hanging up to complete transfer, the reciving extension receives ring instead of the call be connected to the speakerphone.

4)When on a call appearence, when a second call comes in the phone continues to ring until forwarding destination.

5)State the name of the party before transfer in Auto Attendant.

6)Get rid of the drop option when using park.

7)FIFO LIFO option in playback of messages.

Like I said I think the IPO is great, amazing really. But I want it to be unbeatable.

about point 7

i heard that the 96xx are nto going to be working on the ipo but a look a like will be coming
just like the 56xx and the 46xx story
so wait for a while

Women and cats can do as they please and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea!

emoore625,

Please note that people on IPO403 do not have a choice of installing 4.0.

Thanks.

Give users the ability to have more than 1 user rights assigned to them. Or find another way to have multiple "restriction" tables assigned to one ext.

Excelent topic, I hope Avaya is following us!

1. Multiple source of Music on Hold.
2. More transparency for SCN, user as well.
3. SIP endpoints.
3. Cascading menu for the handsets feature button + backlit.

All great stuff. My list is short.

A "whisper page" that is transparent to the external caller.

Distinctive ringing by call type.

The ability to have hunt group calls come in on different call appearance buttons.

---------

Rdy2Taxi email me at brianafm@yahoo.com I'm almost done getting phone manager to deploy from a login script with about 95% of the dialing from Outlook configured if you're interested. Still testing and tweaking but almost there.

There is a need to see in the display of an internal caller the status for another user, regardless of the number of available call appearances. If 114 calls 115 and 115 is on the phone, 114 just hears ringing. It should also say someting like "EXT115 on Call" in the display so 114 knows if the user is there or not.

1) that the CLIP appears behind the call appearance buttons
for example:
a = 0032474.....
b = 00314443...
c =

2) the ability to "mute" when you press a key on the touch pad

3) the ability to choose wheter the main number or the personal (DID) or no number should be send out (maybe this is already possible, but I think I saw this question before)

Multiple Music On hold for sure.

VPN clients built into VoIP phones

Reboots very limited if ever required.

1. allow me to initiate a ping/traceroute FROM the IP Office.

thats all i can add for now

i do like the idea of IMAP storage....

To Jamie77 and Escorthosis:

Create Speed dials and Shortcode simultaneously:

Esco is on to something here;

1. Create a directory export.

2. edit it. After the second comma - insert what you like as speed dial number!

3. import it. Voila! You will automaticly get Dial-Shortcodes with the directory number!

I haven´t seen this documented but it´s been working since at least 3.2. :)

So now... just give you customer an excel file, the cells must be in text format. No let them fill it with NAME,NUMBER,SPEED DIAL. (* and # characters are accepted!)
Just tell let them know the numbering rules of their system. Save the .xls to .csv and import to IPO.
Just check the file looks correct, compare with an original directory export.

Its a pity though, that Avaya can't import local characters correctly.. just a-z.

More than 1 "real" LAN interface where we can bind service on that, like IP handsets bind to LAN1, Software Application bind to LAN2, Voicemail PRO bind to LAN3 and of course bind the SCN in a different LAN interface as well so we could have a dedicate LAN and VPN just for VOIP without need dual LAN routers, QOS gear and etc!

It should be very handy!

Hello

There's one feature i'd like to have on the IPO platform:
fallback destination for the whole system when there is no usage of voicemail. Fall back should work if the user gets a DDI call and the user is busy or not anwsering.

Much like Nortel has already "LINKED TRANSFER" for centrex lines.......

Had to say it agian.....

Here is a wish, I would like to see the cascade notification improved to both visual format ine manager and possible in visual voice.

I would also like the time between calling the next number on the list for cascade to be user configured. The way it works is limited.
