I'm starting a feature/functionality wish list for future relaeses of the IP Office. Even though I think The IPO is great, flexible and stable (yes I said stable), I think there are important features and functionality missing from the system.

Since I'm pretty sure Avaya takes a frequent look at this forum, I'm start with a few I think are important.

Now I don't want this thread to get dropped so watch what you post about future releases, don't want anyone to violate an NDA.

Now these are in no particular order just one that come to mind.

1) A real VM transfer key, having to hit the transfer then # plus ext isn't ideal

2) A User Key that has BLF, coverage and voice announce intercom all at the same time (like the Panasonic DBS)

3) On transfer when using dial intercom, when hanging up to complete transfer, the reciving extension receives ring instead of the call be connected to the speakerphone.

4)When on a call appearence, when a second call comes in the phone continues to ring until forwarding destination.

5)State the name of the party before transfer in Auto Attendant.

6)Get rid of the drop option when using park.

7)FIFO LIFO option in playback of messages.

Like I said I think the IPO is great, amazing really. But I want it to be unbeatable.

I agree with live programming. Terminal programming on INDeX was great and simple. Manufacturers seem to concentrate too much on GUI's these days when terminal is better most of the time.

Less reboots for changes would be good and the ability to hot plug/reset units without having to reset the whole thing. Adding new units without having to reset the IPO would be very handy.

Bigger IPO or at least more than 500 in SCN.

IP424 anyone?????

Fooball is not a matter of life and death-It is far more important!!!!

mforrence,

Can you explain the ability to share a touch tone?

My extensions are 2xx.
I also want the option 2 off the main AA menu to be for service, which would transfer a call to the service hunt group.

I tried what you suggested, but could not get it to work. The menu kept dropping the call to the timeout (which is the Hunt Group).

Thanks.

some of you touched on it with the power supplies but ill take a little further...

make a v3 module line that has the following:
power supply that slides in from the back
ATM4 and PRI cards that slide in from the back
and use VCM and Modem cards that slide in too

how hard would this really be????

why your at it, put some LED indicator stats on the PRI cards that show differnet status's, not just 1 green light.

make the DS ports blink when in use(easy to identify so you dont knock someone off when doing a move)

MUST,MUST,MUST have TTI feature!!!!!!!!!!

optional 54xx with backlit displays.. a lot of customers cant see the displays.,,, and more buttons on each phone

can someone from avaya actually reply to this and let us know you are reading these posts. there are a lot of good ideas in here and it would be nice to know that you guys care what we think.

DavidCT - in first menu have 2 go to a second menu. Second menu have ?? and a timeout action. Timeout to hunt group. ?? to Transfer action with 2$KEY as the destination.

Ability to set hunt groups ex-directory

If at first you don't succeed, skydiving is not for you.

mforrence,

I tried your suggestion and could not get it to work. The timeout to the Hunt Group Works (timeout action) but the extension dialing does not.

I set up the first menu with an option 2 which connects to a second menu.

In the second menu I have two options connected as follows:

?? -> Transfer action to 2$KEY
Timeout -> Transfer action to 502 (a hunt group)

When I have both connections as above active, it always defaults to timeout (hunt group).

The problem seems to be with dialing an extension.

For testing I took the connector out between ?? and transfer action to 2$KEY and when I pressed 2 from the main menu it went to the hunt group (as expected).

I then put the connector back between ?? and transfer action to 2$KEY and took out the connector between timeout and transfer action to hunt group and I could not get it to work. The system didn't respond and then eventually disconnected me.

DavidCT

Try tranfer to $KEY rather than 2$KEY

Also maybe try ? rather than ??

Just thoughts

Make a option $ instead of ?? and transfer to 2$KEY, leave the time-out as it is.

I got it to work by setting a "wait for key press" timeout of 1 second on the second menu option.

Details:

Menu option of 2 off the Auto Attendant menu goes to another menu.

The secondary menu has two options:

Timeout -> Transfer to Hunt Group for option 2 off main menu

?? -> Transfer to 2$KEY for my three digit extensions which all start with 2.

Hey guys!

Nice thread very good idea , we all share the same wishes and issues to be fixed...some would be great addition, but for some others I can't believe we are still waiting for them but anyway, here's a few more...

- Please allow applying the voicemail pro database on the fly without having to wait for all ports to free out!

It can be a real pain to test new setups if you have to wait 60 minutes before testing your stuff ! with a lot of auto recording this is really not funny! and the thing is, if you don't look on the screen all the time, you have to test every 10 minutes or so because there is not way to know if the changes were in applied or not

Or at least replace the toolbar button labeled "Save and make live" for something like "Save and have some good coffee!" ;)

- A user option to change the behavior of the DSS key. When you press transfer and then hit a busy extension DSS key, the phone screen change to offer you more options...which is great. but can be very annoying for many customers when all they want to do is transfer the caller without having to hit TRANSFER > DSS KEY > CALL SOFTKEY > TRANSFERT....its less trouble to do TRF > EXT #... so DSS consoles are useless. Not every customer that want soft consoles...which is a great tool by the way. Even better...bring back the one-touch transfer that was working so well in the legend

- Some kind of Class of services for voicemail pro users...at least MAX Messages, housekeeping be part of COS, and add "mailbox is full" message if it happens, fifo lifo should be included too

- When you login to your mailbox, it would be good to know how many old messages you have...no? should be easy...I know visual voicemail is coming but we're not always at the office, and we have to access hunt group mailboxes, phantom mailboxes, theses mailboxes probably wont have a visual...oh yeah, here's a tip for the avaya developper... Playback(YouHave.wav)
Playback ($number_of_old_messages.wav)
Playback(old.wav)
Playback(messages.wav)

Sorry....I had to do this ;)

- Put some metal in the base of the 54xx, 56xx, 46xx phones....they are not heavy enough...theses phones are moving around all the time has soon you move a bit....if you lift up your chair with the default receiver cord that are shipped with the phones, chances are good that the phone will follow you! and I'm not 7 feet high ;) also, when you speak on the handset microphone, you can hear yourself back just enough thats its annoying...much more than the 44xx series phones...I receive many complains about this after I replace any phone system with IP Office.

Here's some for the contact center
- Allow good reporting when you have agents members of multiple groups!!!
- Basic skill based routing
- Adjustable trigger for the queue light to flash more quickly/slowly depending on how many calls are waiting in queue
- Stop resetting the agent idle timer when he just lift the handset and put it back on the base.
- In call center view, allow to LEFT click in the windows that require a right click...at the place of telling "please right click"...common...
- Make the wallboard server running as a service....they did put everything else as a service in CCC v5 but the wallboard server still require a user to be logged-in with the software open.
- I bring back again the 9 prefix that prevent outlook to popup correctly...they should really fix this...either you have popup working and redial is not working on both phone manager/phone sets...thats not fair!! heheh

Some great features are planned for 4.0 and maybe they will work perfectly in 6.0...just kidding...but..

SIP trunks are finally in 4.0...that will be a great feature...looking forward the price list to see how expensive this will be per channel! if NAT traversal will be supported and working...theses kind of things!

A real world working IMS would be great yeah and MSI files for applications too...

I hope the IP500 will bring a rackmount power module for cpu and units too...16 transfo... can you imagine!

I think I could continue like this until tomorrow morning I've got much more but I'm getting tired now!

btw, I love ip office its a nice product, they are fixing slowly issues but it still works great in most scenario. Voicemail Pro rocks!

Add IMAP functionality to VMPro. This would allow non-exchange users to have some semblence of integrated messaging.

Would like ability to have expansion units linked to base via fiber, allowing them to be located in remote buildings. Would reduce chance of lightning damage significantly.

Here is a simple request. Have a user option that automatically dials 9 for an outside line.

or fix the IP Office to allow the old shortcode

?D
.9
Secondary Dial Tone

I would like to see that you can set allow divert off switch as either a per user setting or only allow directory entries (like the INDeX).

Treat S0 ports as extensions/users rather than lines. When you have 4 S08 units and several incomming groups to these units setting up the line groups, short codes, LCR Short codes becomes a nightmare where a simple hunt group would have done!

Automatic backup to a specified TFTP server on a time table.

MSI installs for Phone manger application would be excelent

Make Phone Manager more simple to change between VoIP and physical desk, also allow phone manager to ring using your speakers rather than your prefered voice speaker / headset.

Be able to block extension dialling from a phone that is not logged in. Only allow "Dial Emergency" feature.

Ability to use Speed Dials without the need for a digital phone or phone manager. Speed Dial store numbers.

Panasonic KX-T's can do this and calculators have more brains than them!!!!

The amount of customer we have had to program a list of numbers into the directory for Alpha Tagging and then put the same numbers into Short Codes so they can dial them easily. QUITE BORING!!!

Simple feature-most PBX's have it.

IPO ACA:Implement

Fooball is not a matter of life and death-It is far more important!!!!

To Jamie77:

That was my point as well (see my reply 18 jan 07).
But there must be something related in the IPOffice already.
If you already set up a directory number and a shortcode to the same number for Alphatagging and Speeddial, try to export the directory. Now there is a 3rd collum (containing the shortcode from my memory) in the output file???
This was on 3.1 or 3.2 can't remember, but could still be there.

VMPro Wish List.

1. Repair scan (option 7.) In 3.2.28_4 it plays the header of either first new or the oldest message and stops right there.

2. Introduce a choice to listen to the new messages again after they have been listened once. Right now it is necessary to skip all old messages to listen to the new one more time.

3. Make playing the message header optional, so it would be possible to listen to it while playing a message as necessary.

4. Introduce a feature in the mailbox settings to reorder the sequence of the CLID, date, time and message length in the message header playback. Allow to skip any of them.

5. Introduce a default choice when a user connects to their mailbox, e.g. "Listen." This is why people usually connect to their mailbox. In the existing implementation they are forced to dial "2" in order to listen to the header (See 3 and 4.) Then they need to dial "0" to really listen to the message. The default choice should be easily overridden by dialing other codes at the time of the playback.

6. Introduce "GoTo" function. It should allow to go to the First Old, Last Old, First New, Last New, Message #nnn, etc.

7. And finally. One feature that we used to love with our good old Panasonic DBS. Add the ability to slow down or speed up the playback.

Thank you,
Vladimir Mikhelson

A lot of what's mentioned has happened already in 4.0.

I would like to see...

1. Generic Voicemail to Email setup. Not all customers use exchange server but still want Unified messaging. With the IP500, I might as well sell a Duvoice with standard edition anyway because it's easier to implement.

2. Changes without reboots. (Whoever suggested html interface must be joking, I deal with that in the Toshiba CIX and it is HORRIBLE. Manager is a dream).

3. Linux support for all applications. I had a customer who's win2k3 server blew up and I had to reinstall everything. Linux just doesn't die.

4. Pushable installations to all computers on the network. If I need to upgrade the IPO firmware and any IP phone firmware I should also be able to remotely upgrade PM and Soft Console.

5. SIP SIP SIP EXTENSIONS. WTF is going on when a Sip trunk to IP phones takes up 2 VCMs??? That's outrageously obsurd.

6. Redundancy (power supplies, processors, etc)

7. 9600 series phones for IPO. The 5600 series is very tired. I had a customer want a phone system for her condo that turned down the IPO because of the phones in favor of a partner. way to cut my income in half AVAYA!

Although, I may be taking a Financial Advisor position in 2 months so really, what do I care?
