Hi folks, apologies if this has been covered elsewhere I'm down to tearing my hair out looking for the correct combination of keywords.

Basically I have 2 sites, connected by MPLS-VPN with QoS and all IP routes are sorted. Both sites have IPO 406's ( albeit differing FW ) I'm trying to set up an IP Line between the 2 for the transfer of internal calls.

created new line, ( line 10, inc grp 10, out grp 10, IP of site B IPO )

shortcode of 2N, ., Dial, Group ID 10

watching callstatus - dialled number gets sent to ISDN ( line 5 ) not IP ( Line 10 )

Any suggestions

TIA

Mark
============================

Config

Site A - 192.168.3.0/255.255.255.0 - 406 FW 3.2(55)
Site B - 192.168.0.0/255.255.255.0 - 406 FW 21.(27)

Hi Raknas,

yes forced G711 64k at both sites and disabled fast start too

Cheers

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but have you got VCM cards installed in both units?

Hi davemead,

nope, only got one in the head office unit

advised that was all I'd need

beginning to think it's a router based issue

the MPLS-VPN hs Cisco routers at each point and one had a 'faulty config' causing multiple link drops in general. Waiting for a BT/Cisco engineer type to re-write the config and install a replacement 1801 at the remote end ( head office link to another site is working perfectly but apparently they can't copy that config )

Keep the pointers coming, I want this to be stable and spot on

Cheers again

Mark

The problem is that you need a VCM at both ends (one to compress packets, one to decompress packets).

Fairynuff - cheers for that

wonder why no-one else mentioned that and our provider ( who shalt remain nameless ) said otherwise

I shall advise the boss to order one up

Cheers

Mark

( ps latenight or early morning for you too eh )

Late night but nice and quiet with no phones ringing around me!

righto, hopefully ready to put this one to bed

BT have finally finished sorting out the MPLS-VPN apparently a Cisco 1801 is very susceptible to noise, so we've had an 1841 installed and all seems well. QoS all indicating that its OK.

Ordered a 4channel VCM for the remote site today ( 400quid not bad ) and shall be fitting that probably on Saturday

Will advise how it goes, thanks again for all help support and patience

Mark

Hi folks

VCM going in tomorrow, am I OK to leave faststart off and compression to automatic??

or does anyone have any personal favourites

link is 256k MPLS-VPN with 3 x TS sessions permanent and max 2 calls at once back to head office a few times a day

cheers

Mark

set a codec
so don't leave it as automatic

Thanks to everyone for their help and assistance in this matter.

The VCM is installed in the remote 406 and SCN just kicked in as you said it would !!

can't ring huntgroups - but i've told tham that's right and they've bought it !!!!

beers all round

Mark

Users are advertised when SCN is enabled.
For Huntgroups you'll have to add shortcodes that point
to the correct IP-line.

So if 222 is a huntgroup and the IPline group is group 10.

Shortcode: 222
Telnr 222
Dial
line 10
