Anyone else giving it a shot? I will be in Denver on the 29th to give it a run.

O.K. then. I'll go it alone. See you on the other side.

CarGoSki:

I am going to sign up to take this soon. I am planning on going in the next couple months. I've got a newborn at home that we've got to get settled first. I am scheduled to be at Avaya in May. I would like to kill two birds with one stone. Let me know how it goes.

Thanks

Hi there,

Do you have any hints and tip for the ACS.

I'm hoping to do this soon myself. Getting the time to prep is getting difficult.

ACS...is ACA part 2 in my opinion. More of everything and more subnet math for sure.

I am just back from Denver and according to the Avaya University web site....I passed!

98 out of 113 points. Whew... what a relief. While I can not say what was involved in the test I can say that there is little time to spare if you do not know what you are doing.

I put somewhere between 100 to 150 hours of lab time into preparation for the test using the published test guidelines and some reasoned deductions. The preparation apparently came in handy.

One observation in regards to the testing facility on Lucent Blvd in Highlands Ranch CO: There are three buildings at the campus in close proximity and the buildings are arranged in a straight line. The two outside buildings are labeled Avaya while the center building is labeled Lucent.

Whats up with that?

BTW...Nice telco room.

Congrats dude. Happy for you, presently studying for my acs. Now that your an ACE, I will be directing more IP Office f#$% ups to you LOL!!!

Congrats on passing!

As far as the buildings go, They all use to be Lucent until they split off into Avaya. The west bulding is Avaya U (accenture & other training related folks) and the east building is the TSO and some other stuff.

By the way, I spoke to a guy @ TSO a couple of weeks ago (after an hour wait!). He said that they had about 40 people take either a retirement or severence package. That explained the long wait! But they apparently did not have to lay anyone off since so many people took the packages.
I suppose I am happy for them but, it sucks for the people calling in for support. And then we have to pay them to support their product when do finally get talk to someone!

I think that Avaya is the only manufacturer that charges their Partners/dealers for support. The others as far as I am aware of, give their certified dealers free support. I just have a problem with that. Especially after paying a premium for the product in the first place.

Well, thank God for Tek-Tips!

Thanks for letting me vent...

Hmmm.. Does that mean that the center building will be relabeled Alcatel in the near future?

somebody no where to get some test exams for ACS.
