I read that the new 8.1 can let you create ad-hoc conferencing and be able to manually kick or mute anyone within that conference call (preferred enabled). Here is my questions:

How would I be able to setup the meet me conferencing with the person's ext using vmpro (not one-x). EX: i am ext 200 and want to have everyone join in my meet me conference with my ext for the personal conferencing. If I am not in the conference they will just hear music on hold until I join.

I read that the IPO can do such a thing like this but I do not know how to set this up. I know in One-X I could do this using my cell phone. Is there a way to do this without the One-X cell phone app?

Thanks in advance!

You can use either the Telephone OR the One-X Portal to perform the Conference Manager Options:
Viewing Conference Details
You can display a list of the parties involved in a conference call.
1. If not already displayed, press the up arrow up or down down arrow arrow key to display the conference call.
2. Press the Details soft key.
• To scroll through the list of callers in the conference, use the up arrow up and down down arrow arrow keys.
• To drop the caller displayed from the conference, press the Drop soft key. Pressing the key drop DROP button will also drop the displayed party.
• To mute a caller, highlight them and press Mute. Repeat this to unmute them.
• To return to the call display, press the Exit soft key.

You have to set-up the Meet-Me Conference using short codes. Here is some additional info below and some links to sites with additional info.

Personal Meet Me Conference

Personal MeetMe conferences are conferences with conference number as an existing IP Office user extension number.

Within the Small Community Network (SCN) setup, to join the Personal Meet Me conference using short code, the same Conference Meet Me short code should be configured in all the IP offices.

For example, if IPO-A and IPO-B are in SCN then for a user to join a personal conference, same Conference Meet Me short code needs to be configured in both IPO-A and IPO-B.

I believe you use the One-X Portal for the conference Manager Options.

Configuring Your Conference Bridge Number

For conferences that you start, the one-X Portal for IP Office conference display provides you with functions to mute and drop other parties or to mute all parties.

Each conference hosted by the IP Office is given an ID and your system administrator can configure methods for accessing or starting a conference with a particular ID. If your one-X Portal for IP Office conference bridge number setting matches the conference ID, you will have the same conference controls to mute and drop other parties as provided for a conference that you started yourself.
1. In the Configure tab select Telephony.
2. In the Conference Bridge Number section enter your own personal conference bridge number.
3. Click Save.

One-X Portal: The system displays the conference manager of an Ad hoc conference and a Meet Me conference call at the top of the conference tab in the Calls gadget. It displays the conference manager when the conference is initiated on a phone device and when the conference is initiated using one-X Portal for IP Office.

Music On-hold Conference Call Info:
Note that this only applies to conference calls on your own phone system and displayed as conference calls by your one-X Portal for IP Office. Putting your connection to any other type of conference, for example on another phone system, causes that conference to hear your phone system's music on hold.

Thank you for replying! The above is only about the ad-hoc conferencing right? Is there a way that I can control the meet me conferencing like the ad-hoc? I'm guessing that I will have to give those users at least office worker licenses for this to work.. I am using the UCM for this that came with our demo kit. I will setup One X and test it out.

Thanks again for the reply.

On 8.1 you always have a personal conference meet me bridge.
Use the users extension number for it.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

Thanks tlpeter, I just tried that out about 3hrs ago. I had to create short codes for each ext. that is gonna use the personal conf. bridge which is also linked to the One-X.

You can do this with one shortcode.
When you have extension in the 200 range then program it like this.

2xx
conference meet me
2N
Line 0

I used kyles conf bridge. It has worked great for rel 8, but I've loaded into 2 8.1 systems and when you press ** for a moderator it drops the call?? Has anybody see this also.

The function ** is used by the mobile call control function which has a default shortcode. Either erase the shortcode or use another code nstead of the **

A simple mind delivers great solutions

Sorry I didn't give enough detail. It doesn't disconnect after pressing ** it lets you enter in your conference I'd then it asks for the password. Then it drops.

I did change it to 1 just to confirm it didn't have anything to do with the issue.
