Hi Guys, hope you can help me with a baffling problem...
I have a customer with an IP500 v1 Control Unit. The customers IP Phones are on their own network connected to LAN 1. The customers data network, including voicemail PC, is connected to LAN2.
Recently the WAN Port stopped working. The LED's show no activity to suggest anything is connected to the port. We have tried different patch cables, switch port, switch on the data network. No effect.
So I have a replacement unit on my desk, which is exhibiting the exact same problem. I'm unable to connect to the unit via the WAN port, even when it is in it's default state. My Windows LAN connection is set to DHCP, and I'm able to connect when patching into the LAN Port. I've confirmed DHCP is enabled on LAN2, however when I patch into the WAN Port, Windows is telling me no cable is connected. The only difference here, is both the green and amber LED's flash on and off slowly, at the same time.
I've tried upgrading the unit from 4.2 to 5.0. No effect.
Have I really been unlucky and got the same fault with a different unit, or have I missed something?
Thanks in advance
I often do not think about the consequences of anything I do....
