I have a definity S8300 with G700 gateway connected to IPO 406v2 h.323 QSIG. I am trying to set the IPO up to use the Audix conencted to the definity. When audix answers it tells me to enter the extension I am leaving a message for instead of going straight to the mailbox. Any ideas?

Chris,

How do you have the voicemail tab in the system info set up?

Diz

It is set to Audix

Voicemail Destination:5 Audix UDP number: 666

I have this working at 2 locations, I'm asking a bunch of questions because you seem to have everything correct. I don't mean to insult your intellegence by asking.

Looking at your monitor stats now.

Diz

No no I don't think you are insulting me. I really appreciate the help that you are giving me. The IPO side of it seems so simple, it makes me believe my problem is in the Definity with the way I have the trunk set up. Let me know what you think.

Thanks so much!

I can tell you that once audix answers i can manualy enter the extension in and press # when prompted and it will go to the mailbox at that time.

Real quick do this for me,.. saw this once.

Go to extensions in your tree and open it up. Make sure the extensions in the extension list match the users extension numbers.

isnt that the way it is suposed to work?
(I dont think audix can make use of the IPO's Source numbers)

I mean when it covers to audix from outside party. That is the way it should work if I was calling to check my voicemail, but not when someone covers to voicemail. When a person calls and it covers to voicemail that is what the message is.

Go to your Intuity Audix terminal. Change the subsciber class of service parameter on page 2 of the subscriber :::"Addressing Format":::: from extension to name and let me know.

Diz

I made the change and still no good. Could it be with the way I am routing calls to the IPO?

no, just screwed up on that (I did) sorry. In the name on the first page, instead of first name last... in that field type in the name of that person exactly as you have it in the ip office. also, I noticed that the switch number is 1. I think it needs to be zero for a user that has a mailbox but no extension number on the Def. switch.

Diz

I have the name Entered as Cellular Shop on the Audix and on the IPO. I changed the switch number to 0 and still no go.

what switch number did you give the IP office in the definity programming?

D

I don't remember entering a switch number in the definity programming. Where would that be?

Look in 'change remote office x'.

They had to create a remote office number to go over the H.323 trunks.

I upgraded to 3.1.65 and had the same issue, after I downgraded to 3.0.69 it worked again.

Well, it should already be set up because the 8700's dial plan is set up to dial across the voip line to see the IP Office. See if you can do a display of nodes and I will check something else.
