Hi All! Just want to seek your help on installing softphones on IP Office. I already uploaded the power license for the softphones. The question is what application is applicable for softphones on Avaya IP Office? What extension should I use h323 or SIP? Can we use this as an softphone only, no hardphone?

And we will install this on another building and the connection is SDWAN, do I just put the OFFICE PRIMARY IP>/46xxsettings.txt when configuring the Avaya Equinox for example?

Really need your help on this. Thanks!

It's a bunch of things to consider...

Equinox/IX Workplace is the way to go.

You only need users but no extensions configured for them.

The LAN settings in IP Office have to setup correctly so that the autogenerated 46xxsettings.txt contains the correct IPs/FQDNs.

If you want to the encrypt the connection you will need valid certificates in IPO and on the client. Here are some important hints

Hi derfloh, do I need to enable the settings in lan 1 > voip tab "enable sip remote extension enable"?

Also when I put the http:\\<IP Address IPO>\46xxsettings.txt I got an error "connection in phone server lost"

And when I saw the server name in the Services it shows the SIP Domain and when I changed it to IP Address of IPO Primary and relogged in. I got an invalid extension even if I already created a user.

Enable SIP remote extensions mandatory if you cross a NAT border.

46xxsettings.txt has to be reachable through ports 443 and 411.

For login you need the user's extension number and the user password (not login code).

Hi derflog, its already working now but I am having challenges when dialing outside with authcode, dtmf is not working. the authcode was 1234# and its not doing anything.

Hi Nutrional_info,

I didnt create an extension since the agent only using softphone not a hardphone. Thanks!
