We have IP office release 8.1.(69) and voice mail pro 8.1.9102 with essential, preferred and advanced edition will showed valid on IPO manager. We created a short code to the module using voice mail collect but we noticed that the call is getting disconnected whenever will dial this short code and the voice mail pro server is not showing the list of users we created on Ip office. This seems like a synchronization issue .I have tried uninstalling and re installing voice mail pro without any luck. I will appreciate if someone has a clue to on how i can resolve this issue.

2 things come to mind
1. do you have the IP address in the system under the voicemail tab
2. is the firewall on the vm server on? if so turn it off and turn the service off as well, if you disable the service all will be blocked so just turning it off will do :)

Yes we have the voicemail ip address on the voicemail tab as 192.168.1.253 which is the voice mail pro server Ip address and windows firewall is turned off .What might be wrong ?.

This might be silly, but are you sure there are nothing else with the same IP on your network (pc, switch, server, phones)?

Can you ping the IPO from the VMPro server?

I prefer to check in SysMonitor: Status> Voicemail Sessions.
Should look something like this:

SBS server? Running DNS and/or other domain services? They use random ports often VM pro ones, that's why it shouldn't be installed on them :)

Its well documented how to reserve ports in the windows registry.

But here is a

for guidance.

How are your shortcodes setup? In your screenshots it doesnt look there is a plus beside the shortcodes entry. You need to add an entry in there with the same name as your shortcode in the telephone number field. So:

Code: *80
Feature: Voicemail Node
Telephone Number: AutoAttend

Then in VMPro right click on Shortcodes under IPOffice and then Add and name AutoAttend

check the VM Pro service is actually starting
reconfigure the service to log on as local user & tick the interact with desktop box.
(Anti Virus Software can also block ports)

Already got this problem, it is a bug in the release version of 8.1. (69). I made a downgrade to version 8.1. (43) and it worked corretamete.

8.1.9102 is a VMPro version for 8.1.67
Lately these versions really should match the corresponding IPO version.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

Do You suggest i should upgrade to 8.1(73) and Voice mail pro to 8.1.9302 ?. Please advice.

If you have the time then yes i would do that.

Can you ping the VM server from SSA and vice-versa? I once had an issue with security settings that blocked the VM Pro connection as well. Had to reset the security settings in the IPO to get it to connect.

Think twice, speak once~~!!~~

budbyrd
you have jogged my memory on a similar problem
sometime the password needs setting in VM Pro client/administration.

it previously defaulted to blank but on later releases of IPO it needs to be set to password (Avaya seem to have changed this in the default security settings of the IPO)

IPGuru, i have never set it and i never needed it.
I think you had a rare situation but it is not a common issue :)
