Can the new version IP Office IP500 30 phone exp module work on a IP406? One of our IP 400 v2 30 port exp module went out and our vendor told me the new IP500 modules will not work with the IP406.

NO! IP500 modules work only with IP500

They just go into a reboot loop if you try :)

I did and it went into a reboot loop, not 100%sure though as I had upgraded to R5 and hadn't put the licence in yet so it could have been either :) Not tried since I licenced it.

I would have thought so, it just reminded me of what happened and I answered before I remembered I also hadn't licenced it :)

From the knowledgebase IP500 expansion module section on Digital Station modules:

The IP500 Digital Station Module is functionally identical to the IP400 Digital Station V2 Module.

was gonna say. i cracked open an "ip500" so8 today and it was on 2.1

Never argue with an idiot. bystanders won't be able to tell the difference.

Thanks for the information. Would the unit's software need to be downgraded?
