ei guys, I have a gsm gateway connected to a trunk port to my IPO. Maybe you could post the proper way to configure it. I'd just configured it like a typical analog trunk and didn't work. I'd also connect the GSM gateway to a working analog trunk port but still failed to route a call.

Another problem also is when I attempted to dial out the desired number it will go try to connect the call even the dialed number is not yet complete. For example, I want to dial 091xxxxxxxx, then it will dial out without the last 2 digits. TIA.

using short code;
9N
Dial
N
51: Dial 9

my ARS config:
code:091
TN:091xxxxxxxx
F:dial
ID:6

I believe there is an error in your ARS. Think it should be:

091XXXXXXXX
Dial
091N
6

Thank you for the info sir, I'd already tried capitalizing the X but still failed... any ideas?

The code part is wrong, the X's go there not in the tel number field :)

Oh the capitals wasn't really the problem, I'm just used to using capitals in short codes :)

The thing I believed was missing was the N after 091, and the way you posted it it looked like you might have switched two fields around too, like amriddle was just saying...

The part where you miss the last two digits could be related to the dial delay timers.

I know, but your codes are wrong, you need the X's following the number in the "code" part of the shortcode, as Peter said it's

091XXXXXXXX
Dial
091N
6

or

091XXXXXXXX
Dial
. (just a dot)
6

:)

Thank you all for your kind reply. I might try these all tomorrow. Wish me luck :)

well guys I tried the suggestion you all mention but unfortunately didn't work. But eventually, I'd figure it out why, I'd just observed that the analog trunk configured to my IPO is only sending 8 digit of numbers. So what I did to my ARS is basically completed the first four digit that will look like this.

0917N
Dial
N
6

0916N
Dial
N
6

and so on... so I don't have any problems now on outgoing direction. But still I have problems with my incoming call route lol... maybe you could all give me any advise from the things that I have to verify. This is the configuration for my incoming call route.

bearer = any voice
line 6
time profile = default
destination = 6004 Extn6004

I assigned it first to a local extension so I can see if a call connect. When I dial the gsm number, I hear it rings from where I dialed but when I look at my sys stat and the phone destination, there are no indication of a call coming. I'd suspect this might be a problem with my line configuration. As my team advised, its just the same with a typical analog configuration. The number of the GSM is composed of 11 digits, do I have to reconfigure some thing in IPO for this?

You probably have to tell the GSM box what to do with the incoming call... :) By default that is mostly disabled.

That means when you configured your shortcode you were 1 X short. Perhaps the incoming ring voltage is not enough to be detected, number of digits doesn't matter as they are not passed to the system on analogue trunks, look at the trunk in SSA when you call in and see if is seeing it or not, is the line definatley in incoming line group 6 ?

thank you for the fast response, @NLPeter hmm ok sir I will have to check the gsm gateway manual for that. @amriddle01 there is no trace from the trunk line 6 in SSA and yes it is also line 6 for my GSM incoming route. Question sir, I'm curious with the ring voltage you have mention that is not enough. Is there any thing we can do to adjust that ring voltage?

@NLpeterk I'd forgot to mention that when I connect a phone directly to the GSM gateway it has both incoming/outgoing route. Do I still need to look for the manual.. cause the manual I have is written in Chinese hehe or there must be another way?

Ah ok, that seems to be working then :)

Are you sure the group ID for that analog trunk is 6? Did you look in Monitor to see if ANYTHING happens at all?

We have 2 GSM Gateways setup and they work. This is how ours are setup (Converted to your system):
ARS:
Code: 091N
TN: .
F: Dial
ID: 6

ShortCode:
Code: 091N
F: D
TN: .s(the number you want to display)
ID: The ARS number

The GSM Gatways are connected to Analogue Lines not Analogue Handsets ie a ATM4U trunk Card.

You then also need to create and Incoming Call Route should someone call the number back
Look at the Line number of the ATM4u Port you have connected the GSM Gatway to and configure a corresponding Incoming Call Route.

Easy :)

Let me know how you get on.

I will try all your suggestions for some other time haha im already out from that site. @NLPeterK I'm pretty sure it was line 6 haha cause I want it to be the same exactly with my ARS/outgoing as well @rider90 I guess I'm unlucky then haha I know it would be pretty easy for you guys :) and I'm absolutely sure that it was the exact port you referring to...:)

I will let you know all what will happen on my next visit. Thanks again guys.
