Hi. Id there a way to identify an MXe from an MXe II controller? Clicking "About" gives you MXe no matter what, unless it is an MXe III which it specifies. Thanks.

Always look out for the next tech. because one day it will be you!

The only way to tell is to look at the properties of the RTC
There are differences in the processor and memory
From memory I cant remember what the differences are so it is worth comparing both models

Ready to be corrected if this is not right but I think the orignal MXe controller came with a 64 channel Echo Cancellation module, wheras the MXE II & III come without a hardware echo canelation card unless it is expanded, in which case the MXe II and III only support the 128 channel card, not the 64 Channel. Oh and of course different part numbers, an MXe is 50005080 & an MXe II is 50005090 but you need to be able to see the label on the underneath of it :)

Thanks, guys.

Console command might help

GetPlatformType
For CX = 4
For MX = 3
For Lite = 2
For AX = 6
For LX = 1
For MXe = 5

sysGetPlatformFamily
For CX =64
For MX = 200
For Lite = 250
For AX = 300
For LX = 1000
For MXe = 2000

If I never did anything I'd never done before , I'd never do anything.....

This only shows the platform type and not the model
MXe is 2000 which is the same for MXeII and MXeIII

The differences are in the DSP and processor types

If slot 7 is a type 84 (4 SHARC 21262 DSP) then the controller is an original MXe If slot 7 is a type 94 (4 SHARC 21363 DSP) then the controller is an MXE-II

Thanks for the info Boycey
Do you know if the DSP is the same for a MXeIII as well or is this different?

The 'about' info does state platform type as MXeIII (MCD6 does anyway)
Also the CPU Core speed is 533Mhz for an MXeIII where an MXeII is 450Mhz
You can find this in the Hardware Compute Cards form.
