I.E. 6.0 startup page problem

When starting I.E. 6.0 I have the startup page as msn.com (tools > internet options > home page) yet when the startup page loads I get a page for a search engine. ??? I've gone back at reset my startup page but I keep getting the search engine page upon starting I.E 6.0. Where do I go to get rid of the bogus startup page? Thanks.

I'm not sure from your post what search page is coming up, but it sounds like you've got a browser hijacker on board.
Post back if no luck...

If it's got anything to do with "Sqwire", it's been hijacked by spyware, and Sqwire is NOT in the Adaware nor SpyBot database (I don't know why not).
It must be removed manually. Cheers,

I've just tried AdAware. That didn't work. I'll try SpyBot next. What is Sqwire and how do I find out if the search engine in question is Sqwire?
