I need to setup a hotdesk user on the 3300 controller but don't know how, can you provide me with the complete instructions or direct me where I can get them?

thanks in advance

Is this for an external hotdesk user? (cell phone/home phone).
If yes then you have to make sure you have your COS set up with the EHDU options you need or add a new COS.
Then add an extension, I would have something like 4*532 or mirror the current extension with the * in there.
Then set it to be a hotdesk user on the checkbox in Profile. Go to Service Detail and fill in the external hotdesking prefix and number.
Then go to personal ring groups and add the 2 phones to a ring group.
I would suggest the COS of the EHDU has the confirmation to yes so that the cell phone voicemail does not pick up the call unless you want that.
Let me know how it goes and if anyone has anything to add.

Although I am having trouble finding a way to have the confirmation on the cell to have an announcement, rather then just beeps. Anyone do this? I will post in a new thread as well.
Thank you.

I am referring to internal hotdesk user programming, i need instructions on how to setup a hotdesk user on a 3300.

thanks for your response

You will need to set up the cluster and IP Trunking

The help files are fairly specific.

What's most important is that you realise ... There is no spoon.

Review the help files within the 3300 first and see if that is not enough. As kwbMitel says if you are not already in a cluster you will need to program the 3300 as if it was in one.

Otherwise it pretty simple make a phone to use as the base phone with the appropriate COS options. It can be programmed as device only to save on a user license. Then when you program the user is users and devices there is a check box to click to make them a hotdesk profile. As long as they have the right COS options they can log in. Again read the help files as it gives more detail then I.

The beatings will continue until morale improves.

In Create a Cluster and Assign the Node with the CEID, i have been asked to
Enter a directory number in the Feature DN field to establish a feature directory number on the local element.
Click Save.

what is the feature DN? what number should i use?

In ICP/PBX Networking, there are couple of settings, i am not sure about

Max Number of VoIP Calls
Max Number of VoTDM Calls

what should I enter for the above if I have a stand alone 3300?

You don't need anything other than the local system IP in the ICP/PBX form

When i put 200 for the ICP/PBX Number

It populated
Max Number of VoIP Calls with 200
Max Number of VoTDM Calls with 200

what should I leave this as is?

It will accept any number that does not conflict on the system

It is recommended to avoid special characters such as * & #

The ip trunk quantities of 200 are fine

Asayani, I'm curious if you've even tried to read the help documents, they are very detailed and to rely on us to answer questions such as your last is taking things a little far

The hotdesk set shows

enter PIN and press super key
when I enter the PIN and press the superkey nothing happens, I get the same message. What am I missing?

KwbMitel

These are the instrcurions from the 3300, no where does it say what to enter for cluster element digits. This is my first time setting up an hotdesk user and I don't want to bring my system down, and that's why I am asking these questions

thank you for all your patience and understanding and for all the help you are providing.

Instructions from 3300
Create a Cluster and Assign the Node with the CEID
Access the Cluster Elements form.

Click Create Cluster to create a new cluster.
The cluster is created and the local element is added as a member by default.
Assign a name to the cluster.
You do not need to assign a PNI to the cluster.
Click Save.

Select the cluster member and click Change Member.
Enter the PBX Number that you entered in the ICP/PBX Networking form as the CEID number in the Cluster Element ID field.

Set Local to Yes.

Enter a directory number in the Feature DN field to establish a feature directory number on the local element.
Click Save.

All is good, i figured out where i went wrong.

thanks KwbMitel, Loppylou, TK22 and jceruma. You all have been a great help.
