A couple of years ago, our system was migrated from PRIs (two) to SIP trunking.

One of the results of that move was a major trunk alarm as 85% of the trunks are offline.

I came onboard a few months ago as an inhouse telephone tech guy and I disabled the 46 PRI channels to no effect and added T1 loops to the framer ports.

What procedures would I actually need to do to get rid of the trunk alarm so we will actually be able to know when there is an actual major alarm going on in the system, since the PRIs are not going to be used.

Thanks, Jim

you would need to de-programm the trunks and the Digital Link card.

OK, thanks

Might even have to reboot the controller to clear the alarm. But de-provision the entire thing down to the card first.

reboot doesnt clear alarms - you can either do a set thresholds to temp hide them

or as suggested
do the reverse of programming to de program the PRI
remove the routes that are associated with the trunk group ( may have to change ars digits if theer is still stuff pointed at the routes)
then you have to make sure all channels are assigned and put them all in the trunk group and do a busy trunk group to make them busy
then you can remove the trunks and continue working backwards to remove the other config

you should be able to go all the way backwards to clear the unit and de-assign the card

If I never did anything I'd never done before , I'd never do anything.....
