Gamma Sip Trunk one way fax

Good morning guys,

wondering if someone can help me we have a client that has just had gamma sip lines installed, and can get incoming/outgoing however i have set the fax up and can only get one way communication from the fax machine (inbound) but cant get outbound no matter what i changed some T38 settings but currently have it set up as per the gamma set up guide.

just seeing if there is anything anyone can think of as to why this might be occuring

You usually need to turn the baud rate right down on the fax to like 9600, and/or turn the SIP/IP line setting on if it's a new machine and it has that setting :)

changed the settings to what you specified and still no result when sending so don't think its that? not sure what else it could be.
 
How far does it get? Is it dialling out on the correct lines? Can it ring a landline/your mobile and start squeeling at you? :)

They only have the sip lines, you can hear it dialing then it appears to drop the call, i can run a monitor trace and post results if that would help? just doesn't make sense that the fax can receive fine.
 
Check what shortcode it's matching, SIP needs all digits dialled en-bloc if it trickle feeds them (overlap) it will fail :)

That's the Short code that its dialing, how can i check that its sending en-bloc not overlap.
it goes out exactly the same way as all other calls do via line group 17 unless there is a specific fax ssetting which I've just been through and cant see anything along those lines. i know its not the fax machine as ive disconnected from system and pushed it onto a Analogue line and could send/receive fine.

That will overlap send, change it to

code: 9XXXXXXXXXXX (that's 11 X's)

That should work but you will need to dial the full 11 digit number, even for local. You can get around it but just for testing try it as is :)

dont send it via LG ID 17 send it via a proper ARS route to present the correct number

i have tested your 9XXXXXXXXXXX; this still didn't have the desired result it dialed then i just got engaged or busy beeps. just had someone else check that our fax is indeed working and still no result. again open to suggestions really appreciate everyone's help.
 
Don't put a ; on the end and you need to get rid of be other shortcode, if it doesn't work post a monitor trace, why 9N anyway? Can't they be bothered taking the 9 out the fax programming? :)

You cut the trace off just before the critical point, but the call reaches the provider and they acknowledge the call and attempt to call the number...then you cur the trace off

But it does tell us it gets out from you now and the provider is handling the call at the point it fails, so either post the rest of the trace or ask them why it fails :)
