From what I've seen in the 4.1 powerpoint, there isn't anything to get excited about. The 2 big things for me are the ability to have continuous ringing on a second call and FIFO/LIFO on playback of messages. The new ICR stuff is nice and I like the calendar in Time profiles. I must be missing something, I don't get all the security stuff. Is all that really needed?
I also don't get the SES trunks and the purpose, but that could be because no one has really explained it to me. On balance, I think 4.1 is nothing to write home about. I will reserve final judgenment untill I test it and Do my first upgrade.
I am told that the new IP500 PRI cards will piggyback onto VCM modules so 240 lines & 240 VCM concurrently. Rather a large no of channels. Maybe we should lookout for a new larger IP500 model
indeed no extra vcm
maybe it is an idea to double the vcm just the pri

The security stuff really is for when you try to sell a system into a government building for example, and they ask you if it conforms to certain security standards.
If the answer is no you are out of the door straight away, if the answer is yes you can at least move on to the next stage.
Probably not many will use them but at least they are there if somebody asks, a yes is better than a no.
