Sorry if this is a super basic question but I'm struggling a little bit and could use some assistance. Most of my knowledge is in the IP Office but I also support some of our CM customers here and there. A customer had a request that I thought would be easy but I'm missing something. They are CM 5.2.1 if that matters.

They have two locations, A and B. They requested to be able to use the night button during the day at location B to send calls off to the console at location A. No problem I thought, I set the console extension in location B's night service destination and that worked like a charm. However, at night calls should not get forwarded but instead ring their night bell which they can then answer using the TAAS feature code. The night bell is currently set as the ext alert port on the tenant. It seems that if I have anything set in the night destination field then it will ignore the ext alert port which makes sense, but I need a way to make both work. I'm sure its something obvious that I'm not thinking of but I can't come up with a good way to do it. I tried setting up the night bell as a station and then targeting it from the night vector instead of ringing to the console and use a pickup group to answer the call. Problem is that they did not like dialing extra digits to answer the call and needed more than 50 phones to be able to answer the night bell.

Any help is much appreciated. I'm happy to provide more info as needed. Thanks in advance.

Been a while but have you added the bell to the listed directory number list? then when bell goes off you should be able to use the fac for TAAS code. Like I said it's been a long time so not 100% sure on this but worth a shot.

Also you could set night service to a hunt group with the bell as a member of that group and then TAAS feature access code to answer the call, also only the principal console can set night service.

Thank you for your replies Joe. I have not tried adding the night bell as a LDN, I will attempt that today. My issue with including it in a hunt group or anything along those lines is that they would really like to use the night service button for forwarding during the day and would not necessarily use it to set the phones to nights after 5PM(maybe this is not the best way to accomplish what we want). Their vector routing takes care of time of day so at night I have the option to send calls somewhere other than the principal console.

Then have nights go to a vdn to a vector that routes to the attd during the day, and in the vector you can route it where you want at nights, but the receptionist wouldn't need to put the system in nights this way.
