Got this from our Mitel vendor yesterday: "Root Certificate Update (RCU) - All systems must be patched or upgraded by Aug 2020 or they will stop working".

Can anyone confirm this? What happens if we don't do the update, will our phone system really stop working? Can anyone explain the reasoning for this (management doesn't like being told they HAVE to do something lol).

We have a Mitel 3330.

Thanks!

hello guys,

As I read your forums we are using 3300 ICP AX controller with version 8.0. Today we cannot access the system thru IE and FF and it says the certificate was already expires.

The current certificates expire August 21, 2020. Try using IE with OCMPATABILITY turned on and try again. The file transfers try using FILEZILLA or WINSCP access to the command lines use PUTYY.

All certs will expire in August and will go into LICENSE VIOLATION if they are not upgraded. This only affects systems running Release 5 or higher. If you are not a certified technician you can not download these files. Find an authorized dealer and have them perform the upgrades

I suppose you're entitled to your opinion, I'm just not going to suppose very hard.

Our supplier upgraded our cluster yesterday manually.
By doing the manual step on 1 server, it was automatically replicated to the other 2.

2x virtual mivoice business and one phisical 3300.

No reboot liky TinkyDinky stated.

Version is now 8.0.9, which indicates that the system has the new cert.

AMC shows 3x 8.0.9

FYI

Today is the day and at lease one of my customers was bitten. The system did an automatic license check. No reboot. Physical system running 7.1

Be advised, anyone who decided to take the risk is at risk

The file is available for download at MiAccess. If you don't have account, contact your Mitel dealer to install the patch. Sending the file to you is a violation of copyright law.
