Hey,

I've applied for a job recently where there is no mention of having to drive. I think it could be the job of my dreams with a large company and lots of perks.

After the CV, Telephone and face-to-face interview they have offered me the job. The only problem is that there is a clause saying that I am on probation for the first 6 months where I must have passed my driving test.
(I told them in the interview that I am learning).

This isn't possible. I can't give up my secure (reasonably) job at the moment for one where I could get sacked after 6 months if I fail a driving test!!!
I wouldn't mind if it was a aptitude test or something, but driving around here is a nightmare. There's some people who have to wait up to 11 weeks just for their theory test!!!

Any ideas on how to approch this matter would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Steve.

LOL :)

I don't own a car.

I think that I would be getting a pay rise if I could drive, but they also mentioned that future positions require your own transport.

Absolutly stunning tread, only just caught it, but I'm glad I did....

As for the pay rise, did they say what "your own transport" had to be, if not the hot air ballon wins everytime for me.

Best of luck with it Steve, which ever mode of transport you choose.

Thanks Mikee! :)
I'll be starting in 3 weeks.

Hey dont worry about it soo much. Just book the lessons and test as soon as possible!!!( You can cancel within a certain time of your test and get a refund, if it all goes to pot ). Driving will be the best career move you will make, I held off for 10 years and now I have my license wonder why I didnt do it before. If you are nervous about driving where you live the only way round it is experiance, the more you drive the more you feel comfortable, and when you can drive confidentally in your area every where else will be less daunting. As they say "NIKE" just do it, you wont look back TRUST ME, think about it this seems to be holding you back in your career, when you obviously seem to be wanting to move forward "N I K E"

If you dont ask you wont get :)
