I think it is a very complicated, so far at work no one was able to answer it. Best so far was 'quench thirst' - not even funny.
So:
When you have food you can feed someone.
When you have water you can ... someone.

What is the word for food-feeding, water-...?

Thanks,
I need to educate my co-workers and I will mention source.
Promice.

Hi Ken,

That's about the same as to have quenched the thirst. But what are you, if you slaked and quenched your thirst? aqua- or hydrosaturated? H2Oxidated? unwhetted?

Bye, Olaf.

Olaf,
do you work in marketing? Just curious.....

Only the truly stupid believe they know everything.

As it's children we're talking about how about:

"I've fed and squashed you for years ..."

Some cause happiness wherever they go; others whenever they go.

When you have food you can feed someone.
When you have water you can drown someone.

Both things can kill ye.

With kids, could you say:

"I've looked after you for Bleepety-Peep years, now move out before I drown you!" [bigsmile]

I've heard saturated used as a way to say one is full of water.

To answer the original question, I would use water, as in:

June Carter Cash(?) said:
I've fed and watered you for all these years, and all the thanks I get is one wilted flower, stolen from the Park?!

I've taken care of your every need for all these years, and all the thanks I get is one wilted flower, stolen from the Park?!...

Gooser,

I've heard saturated used as a way to say one is full of water.

Not necessarily water - something (or someone?) saturated can be full of anything at all to capacity, to the greatest possible amount - saturated with water, saturated with color, saturated fat, saturated saline solution, etc.

I was eluding (rather obscurely) to Johnny Cash's being arrested in Starkville, MS for picking flowers. Johnny's comments at the end of track 20 and the song 'Starkville City Jail' (track 21) on his album At Folsom Prison & San Quentin

Sorry for any confusion...sometimes I make references too obscure for anyone but me to get without some explanation.

...sorry alluding, not eluding. I ain't runnin' from Johnny Cash, I's talkin' 'bout him.

I think we all too much into one sentense here still.

What about " I have to run - I need to feed and water my cat

Have you ever noticed that "WWW" takes three times longer to say ("syllabically" speaking) than the term it abbreviates, "World-Wide Web"?

I always say "Dub-Dub-Dub" as a shorthand....
