theres multiple fatal error messages at startup but when you veiw the techinical information about it, it only includes a minidumb file and a list of the computer's drivers etc...how do u find out what's causeing the error at startup? submitting the error to windows has done nothing

Trial and error or you can pay M$ to decrypt it. There's no other way that I know of. I would reinstall the OS if your getting multiple errors like that.

If the problem started immediately after you did something, like install drivers or software, then you might be able to fix it by uninstalling whatever you loaded on the computer.

Can you start up in Safe Mode? Can you get into XP at all? If you can have a look in the Event Viewer (see Help and Support to find it). If you check the the System folder and Applications folder in the Event Viewer you can right click on any error for further details.

Perhaps running System File Checker (SFC.exe) will fix it. If you can get into XP, System Restore is an option.
