I have a client who wants to Encrypt the traffic between their two sites.

How would you do this
1. Set up a VPN between their two routers
2. Use the IP Office built in VPN
3. Some other option?

[cheers]

Hi

I beleive it's better to do a VPN using routers, you can add encription on the tunnel if you want. Just be aware of the encription will increase the package size and also cause an extra "processing" in each VPN device to encrypt/decrypt the data and this can change a lot your traffic behavior and impact call quality.

Kind Regards,

option 1 for definite. vpn routers are very inexpensive and even basic models do easy vpn tunnel setups.

vpn traffic is already encrypted unlike ip to ip traffic using NAT. overhead is increased but if you allow 95kb per g711 call each direction or 35kb per g729 call you will be ok.
