Double entries in "user&device configuration" after upgrade to MCD 1

Hi,

This is the 4th time we notice this:
After switching to Common Data Distributed Model and upgrade to MCD4.2, we have double entries in the "user and device configuration":
-One entry with "No device" but first and last name correct.
-One entry with "Directory Name" and device type correct, but no first and last name entered.
Editing this entry results in "no matching record was found".

"Solution":
-delete the entry with "No device"
-delete the number in telephone directory but note the first and last name.
-then go to the number in "user and device configuration", now the "Directory Name" disappeared and first and last name can be edited now.

At first, Mitel was saying we didn't completely follow the Release notes, but last upgrade we made sure we did and still have the issues.

Did anyone notice the same?

Thanks for any feedback!

I've had something similar, although not an upgrade. I tried to do a mass import/update of the telephone directory.

All the duplicate numbers that where imported had double entries in the user and device form. It seems that the same directory number can have multiple names associated. My solution was to delete the entire telephone directory and re-import.

The problem with this is that the First & Last Name fields are not populated correctly, it populated the entire name in the Last Name field. This is actually what I wanted to achieve in my case so that IP Network calls would display the entire name (Not "First Initial.Last Name"), I'm guessing this is not what you want though.

Hi, thanks for the input!
Indeed this sounds similar.
Anyone experienced the same during an upgrade towards 4.2?

Yes, exactly the same problem, I have done several upgrades now, and all have this issue

Same here too.
We just did an upgrade of a cluster of 28 controllers and our "user and device configuration" is messed up.
Did you receive a solution for this from MITEL?

Once you have upgraded you need to sync your controllers manually

Select the controller that is already on 4.2 use the network element form and select the controller(s) you are going to sync to (also on 4.2) and then do not select any of the sync forms except Service Hosting Data then sync. (last entry in window)

This should then sort out all the entries that do not have numbers and any duplicates.

Hi,
Apparently this also solves the issue:
1/ export the tel dir
2/ delete the tel dir
3/ import the tel dir again.
Thanks all for the input

out of interest does this happen on conversion to common data distribution or after upgrade to 4.2 for instance if you convert to CDD and leave at 4.0 do you get the same error?

Everything is still ok after the migration to sds, bu upgrt after the upgrade to mcd4.1 or mcd4.2 this gets messed up.
A manual sync is not the answer, since I have a stand alone controller here with the same problem. (So I cant sync anything)

@Layne5: that works just fine, the tel directory is back to normal.

So:
1/ export the tel dir
2/ delete the tel dir
3/ import the tel dir again.

I got some duplicate users with "no device" on a fresh install using the import spreadsheet, it was a standalone MCD 4.2..

deleting the wrong entries fixed it, no impact on anything else
