I have an Option 11C in Texas. We recently switched to new T1 carrier. Users in Texas office used to dial 9411 for info. Reprogrammed RLI that 411 goes over to now reference new T1 route. They now get prompted that they must first dial a zero or 1. I built DMI table to insert 1 so that when they dial 9411 it will outpulse 91411; didn't work. Removed DMI table, rebuilt SPN 411 as 1411 and now when they dial 91411 they get information. My question is, what's the difference between me inserting the 1 via a DMI (which didn't work) vs. building 1411 which does work?

when you built a dmi, then married it to a rlb then pointed the spn to that rlb..it should work, there is no difference in the two ways to do the routing, either should work. i haven't seen a carrier want to see 1411 for ld, but things change. their is only four steps in bars to get a number out.
nxx=
npa=
spn=rli
rli=frl+dmi+route

frl normally matches ncos in nctl,
and trag targ is either off or non matching

maybe that was more then 4..

everything as far as frl, targ, etc. was correct. One of my techs said that sometimes SPNs don't take well to digit manipulation, but i can't see why not. Anyway, I just wanted to confirm that both ways of programming are identical. Thanks JohnPoole.

I built DMI table to insert 1 so that when they dial 9411 it will outpulse 91411; didn't work.

You don't want the 9 to be out pulsed.

right, 9 is just to get out. So you had the same problem I did. Did you have to put it in as SPN/NPA/NXX 1411 in order to get it to work or did you not need the 1 at all?

Sorry I was quoting you.

"I built DMI table to insert 1 so that when they dial 9411 it will outpulse 91411; didn't work."

You said it outpulsed 91411, if that is true than thats why it didn't work.

It should work if you only inserted a 1.

okay, I made a boo-boo by saying it outpulsed the 9. It didn't. Just the 1411. Bottom line is, it didn't work via DMI table but did work as 1411. Go figure.

change the table to del 3 insert 1411 or what ever you want, then have your carrier monitor a channel and tellyou what you outpulsed, i have never heard of a dmi that didn't work on any type of spn,nxx,npa etc.. your spn has to be the number the user dials after ac1..i have one site where the user dials 411 i del 3 and insert 1 npa nxx 5555. for a better information rate.
