DID going to Attendant Directory

Got a client with a NAM 4.0 and MICS 7.0 with DID's coming through a PRI.

Internally, when you call an extension, the forward no answer goes to the individual's NAM voicemail box. However, when that person's DID is called from the outside, the forward only goes to a general "Please enter the extension you are calling, for the company directory...",
If you then put in the extension, it goes to the internal extension and then goes to their vm box that way.

Phone is set up with 2 Ring and appearances for the DID line

Any way to set up the DID to go directly to their mailbox as well. I'm thinking it may have to do with the guy that was here trying to set up some sort of overflow, but not sure yet.

Thanks,

Did that. Each DID Line is built to have a prime set to the individual DN. So - for 3909 coming down on say, line 209, goes to DN 3909 as the prime set. However, dialing the DID from the outside going instead to the directory listing instead of individual's vm box.

Then, if you put their extension in at the directory prompt, it will ring at their desk again, but still go back to the directory listing and not to their mailbox.

Internal calls to the DN foward correctly to the vm box of that DN.

Thanks,

Oh! NAM 4.0....might be why.
You need 4.1 NAM for 7.0 KSU

Could be something else perhaps but 4.0 not supported on the 7.0

Not too sure, I have a similar set up at another client and it seems to be fine both for inbound from outside on the DID's and internally.

I have a 4.1 8 Channel Fiber NAM that I can put in and would love to. Don't know that I want to have to have them re-record and set up all of their mailboxes over the holidays though.

Can I do a manual backup of the 4.0 to diskette and then restore to the 4.1?

Didn't want to chance it. The older 4.0 they have is only 2 channels enabled also, so this will be a better solution. Maybe I'll just do it and hire a voice to record for them while they are on break over the next 2 weeks.

Thanks for watching the forum on a night when we all could be doing something else.

You cannot restore to another software level.

What I did once was bring in a spare KSU, setup to phones on a desk (one from each system) and I actualy pressed Play on once vmail and Record on the other. I had the handsets mouth piece over top of the speaker on one set that was the Play set in handfree mode.
So it was same voice, same greetings but not as good quality but did the trick for a rush temp fix until a voice could get there.

It sounds like AA is answering all DIDs. Make sure Service Modes is not using Ring Group 1 with Vmail DN. Also double check to make sure AA is not answering Target Lines in the NAM programming.

Adversity is Opportunity

Ther are some glitiches between the S/W's but check that the AA is not set to answer these lines since you are getting the AA not the Gen mailbox the aa alows you to dial an extention the mail box only lets you leave a message.

Has a solution been found on this? We have a tech that has found this issue.

Let me add that the customer doesn't have DID's but POTS lines.

Did you check out the hunt groups and make sure that the taget lines were not assigned there for your 900+ digit range? and also how about AA answer lines???

This sounds kind of like the old redirect dn floppy boot disk needs to be run on the NAM.

Or your control set is in night service and is control set for all of your target lines thus putting your DID's into night service.

Wash, rinse, repeat.

Double checked my matix, too. I've gotta emphasize culy's diagnosis- incompatible sw.

The tech said that it turned out to be something called Redirect. The software is OK.
