Site wants to pass G729 traffic exclusively between IPDA locations. I find settings that may possibly affect this in STMIB, CGWB, SBCSU and SDAT.
They want to do this because the g711 traffic is running into bandwidth problems. Once the system is set up for this I wonder if the network gear at the site
has to be set up to allow G729 traffic or is that passive to whatever packets it sees? (G711 vs G729). Thanks

You need to change the SDAT of each extension on the remote sites AND on the local sites.
Make G729 the preferred codec on each.
Change the SIPCO
CHA-SIPCO:DMCDATA,Y,G729;
Check the TDCSU's to see that G729OPT is there.
Ask customer or do it yourself - a wireshark trace to see that G729 is being used then
