Hey Guys,

Anybody that can help or shed some light on best way to connect 2 avaya ip406 v2 units over a leased line? if I do this, and I have the vcm module installed, will employee at location A be able to reach employee at location B over the wan to avoid phone carrier costs? Any documentation would help!

Thanks

Is that 192.168.1.1 the same device that connects to the other office or is ther another router in the mix somewhere

kwing...same router that connects to other site...

You used the program already :)
It is the same program where you made the trace with

On top you have status and then small community networking

kwing...ip office 406 v2 and port 1 on the 406 is plugged into my network switch

peter...just opened monitor, clicked blue icon, and i dont see any users at the other site....

So there is no connection at all

Go to to your ip route and put in lan1 like kwing112000 said
and check again

Change one thing at the time !!!

kwing..just modified it to point to lan1....
funny thing...i removed short code, and when i dial extension at remote site, it tries again to go out primary line? i hear kwing on the fact that we should not use short codes, just wondering?

Oke lets check some settings

iproute has

0.0.0.0
0.0.0.0
ipadres of the router on your location

Ipline with unique number and line id's

at the next tab you did set the ipadres of the other ipoffice
you checked voicenetworking

The otherlocation has also the settings but then for the main location

This should work

So check all these settings please

Now the remote system is going to need its IP route set up like this one. can you get into that one from where you are? make sure it points to the right gateway with a destination of LAN1

It should look like this

ipoffice ----> router <-----------> router <----- ipoffice

peter, kwing
all settings are just like you guys wrote for verification.
i can get into the avaya from my site with no problem.

ok...just to verify....
all network settings are set properly. even changed ip route to point to lan1.
i opened monitor => small community networking => drilled down, and no users from remote site show up?

Then you still have a problem

Can you provide all your ipadresses ?

ipoffice site A and B routers on site A and B

Then whe can give you very detailed information
