Can't Restore after upgrade to 9.0

Hi all,

I just upgraded a CXi controller from 8.0 to 9.0

I did a backup 2 days before.

I started by connecting to 2 port on a phone and started upgrade.

The system did a backup and then I lost connection to controller.

I then connected to WAN port and upgrade did not move.

I then stopped the up grade and started a manual install.

Found that I had to move the RJ45 cable to the LAN port on the controller.

The software is upgraded. The problem is the the restore fails indicating c:\fakepath

Any idea why I can't restore.

HI, try creating a folder C:\fakepath and putting your restore archive in there. Then try the restore.

There is something funny with the latest ie or .net that causes this and the ESM cannot upload files from any other location.


(its the same importing from a spreadsheet).

Hi, try putting the IP address of the controller into your trusted sites on IE. I think this is an IE 8 issue.

Definitely an IE8 Problem

I have found that fakepath is not required if you change the security settings
- There is an entry that says
Include local directory path when uploading files to a server
- set that to enable and you should be good to go

If I never did anything I'd never done before , I'd never do anything.....

I just rebuilt the system from scratch.

What happens if I try a restore now.
