Hi All

I can't seem to get the "FollowMe" button on a Dialog 4425 to do anything. Have plenty of previous experience with configuring this on a digital (4223) phone, but on the IP phone, it just does nothing when you press it.

I want it to activate/deactivate the divert to voicemail when it's pressed, and I'm guessing there's something I need to add to the config file, but I'm not sure what!

Thanks
Paul

It's under ACS>Generic Extensions>Operational Directions>1.5 Key Handling

To MD or not to MD that is the question

Hi TeleLion

Thanks for your reply, and sorry to sound dim, but what is ACS?

I have DNA (Extension Manager) V13 on MD110 BC13.

Many thanks
Paul

Do you have access to ALEX

To MD or not to MD that is the question

So you program a "follow me button" in EMG and i dosen't work.
If that's the case there is probbably a faulty setting in the configuration file fore the IP telephone.
EnablePBXStorning must be set to YES.

Hi Mpe

Thanks for your reply. The EnablePBXStoring is set to YES, and the other function keys and TNS buttons programmed from the Extension Manager seem to work fine.

I'm sure you are right about the config file being wrong. I attach the config file to this message in the hope somebody might spot my mistakes!

Many thanks
Paul

I´m not an expert on this subject, but i´ve always used *21*Dest# as Follow me code, and this config file uses *2*Dest#

[Absence]
Profile=*10*profileNo#,#10#
FollowMe=*2*5050#,#2#

Have you tried?
[Absence]
Profile=*10*profileNo#,#10#
FollowMe=*21*5050#,#21#

I´m interested in this as i will be facing a replacement of a large quantity of old digital extensions for IP sets.

Ahhhhhh, this is so frustrating!!!

I have removed all entries from the Absence section of the config file just to leave the following:

[Absence]
FollowMe=*2*5050#,#2#

*2*5050# - This is the correct followme code to divert calls to the voicemail which answers on extn 5050, it works fine if you key is manually on the phone.

#2# - This is the correct code to cancel followme. This DOES work.

When followme is enabled by typing the code above, the followme button DOES correctly dial #2# when you press it (deactivating followme). In fact it dials whatever I edit the "FollowMe=" line to so I know it's picking up the config file correctly.

However the *2*5050# part of the "Followme=" line just does not work, the phone does nothing when the key is pressed. I have tried using different codes, even just usinging an extension number, but the phone still does nothing.

There must be something I'm missing here. ALEX (section 3.5) says it should work!

Any help, much appreciated.

How do I access and configure the form that Huxham references?

Please help me.

Thank you in advance.
